Apex Legends EA crew is missing the ones that can actually read.. (and the ones that can actually making changes to game).. but hey, they maybe have load of micromanagers who can implement more skins (that costs mmmmoneyy)

As far as I’m concerned you can listen to pros for gameplay but you can’t listen to them for player growth.
its true to me that the servers and connectivity on EA’s end is sorely lacking at many times. But Just fixing servers will not add people to this game. Game balance won’t do that either although it’s a necessary part of keeping interest.
Adding maps, proper not rip off price points, adding characters, making the game more fun as it is played which means players play longer and have a better time doing it...these are what’s needed to grow imo, and this is the HARD work, the necessary work. The work that if you don’t do it, you’ll never get more players.
Apex need more, and definitely at the top of that list is Kings Canyon version whatever needs to go away.

Is a really simple answer, EA and Respawn don't care about the game. The developers are similar to Fortnite's developers unfortunately. There's nothing good to say about this game right now. Is boring, competitive doesn't exist in this game at all, specially mixing controller players with mouse and keyboard, makes it least competitive, both have advantages, one more than other, and when there is imbalance, there is no competition. They keep doing unnecessary nerfing and buffing on characters that dont deserve to get nerfed like wraith or pathfinder. And lastly developers always listen to casual players more than pros who know what theyre talking about and play the game 24/7. Everything benefits casual players, every nerf, every buff. They just don't care at all.

Me, as a competitive player, can tell you that pro's know what's missing in this game. They all want the game to be healthy for everyone.
It's true that the casual community is probably 95% of the entire playerbase of Apex Legends, but professional players do play this game for 8 hours/day at least. They know what's good. I would rather listen to someone who knows what he's talking about instead of casuals who just share their 5 hours per week gameplay experience. It's the truth.
Core things to work on:
- Servers
- Server Tickrates
- Competitive Integrity (cheating in higher ranks like d3+ to pred)
- Overall performance optimization
- Options to disable unnecessary game particles (like dust, lava embers, etc.)
- Rework current SBMM-model (SBMM is a good idea, it just needs a better adjustment. It's too inconsistent right now.)
The next update is actually a good step into the right direction by balancing the extreme defensive gameplay with caustic and wattson.
I personally like the steps taken by Respawn Entertainment and appreciate their hard work during these corona times.
So much this.

I'll have to admit up front, I didn't make it through the "wall of text." :D
However, here's my observation as a multi-decade gamer. This younger generation of gamers are quite different than 10-20 years ago. Back in the BF2 and CoD2 days, it was more about the stability and attention to detail in the game. We spent a 1 time large amount on the game and we played it for years.......yes, the same game for years, with very few changes to it. And we were happy and content with that. Those days are gone. It's a different business model now. (I'm speaking in generalities, and I know that business model is still out there, but it's not as successful as it used to be). I think this is what explains what you've noticed, be it APEX or other games.
Here's what I mean. LoL and Fortnite have had success keeping a fan base for so many years, why? Because they keep changing things enough to keep players coming back for more. Let's focus on LoL specifically. The maps stayed the same for years, but they create a new champion more than I change my underwear(not really, but you get the point) which translates to an unstable "broken" game, imo. Despite the instability of the game, they found that magic formula that kept their following.
Apex is a more stable, reliable game, but it lacks the LoL business model that caters to the younger generation of gamers. For us older gamers, Apex is a great game. However, they don't change things enough at the frequency level of LoL to hang on to that fan base. So they get tired of the same old thing (ADHD) and go looking elsewhere for more.
The only other thing that comes to mind is that I do know of a very competitive gamer that quit playing APEX all of sudden because the were more than one instance where he hit his target (even blood splattered) but no damage points at all.......in a ranked game. So yeah, he's gone. That's a lesson that brings us back to my original point. There was a time when Game Developers spent tons of time on the front end perfecting game mechanics like "hit boxes" so that the game had the level of accuracy. They didn't "fix things as we go" which is the new way they release games. Alpha.....the finally Beta........and maybe never make it past Beta. Again, this is the new way of Game Developing.
