I think this is a very important question for the developers at Respawn and I feel as though this needs to be addressed at this very point in time due to players like myself who used to play every single day since release, but now not having any type of urge to want to play it. A lot of pro players have also quit the game and don't seem to be looking back at this moment in time. With this thread I want to tell the developers what myself and everyone else in the community thinks about the game as a whole and why the game feels as though it is going downhill. It is sad to see a game we all love, and a game where developers are clearly passionate about the game falling apart.
I feel as though players quit because of a few particular reasons:
- The amount of new weapons we have had since release.(we should have a lot more since apex has already passed its anniversary)
- Not really any new content (a few map changes here and there, but why take away places people like? places people don't land at should be modified into something they would enjoy landing at)
- The limitations on what is being done to cheaters, (i.e xim controllers, etc ,there needs to be more of a strict hammer on this)
- Season pass rewards, (this could still be more interesting, and once you have completed the pass, if you are level 500, there isn't any reason to continue playing unless you want more kills on your kill counters)
- Nerfs (Yes nerfs need to be done but why not buff other legends so they can compete with legends that need a nerf? Unless the legend is game breaking, this would make the game more fun by buffing others)
- A part (or all) of the store should be rotated daily (so respawn can cash out on their hard work everyday rather than once a week/event, this would limit the need for a cash grab when a new event releases, and would allow the company more passive income daily)
- We need more competitions for pro players and other players who stream Apex.(Why? because some of the biggest streamers have already walked away, that must really hurt a company like Respawn)
- Lack of constant updates (other games have weekly updates, at Apex we're lucky to get 1 a month)
- Servers (This is a big part of the game and it is what helps it run, without good servers, players (especially like myself) will hate playing because it makes it awful to play when you are skipping everywhere)
- I think this is the most important point here for a developer understanding why players really quit, we need a reason to play apex after our attention has been grabbed
- More skins/dive trails need to be added
- Ranked seems pointless to play now except for the badges, since the dive trails are no longer kept permanently after they are awarded that season.
- No way to report suspected cheaters on console via an in-game function
- Players quitting from a lobby as soon as they have joined and not reconnecting again (This feature need a second look at it)
- Weekly quality of life + server updates (if needed)
- Rage quitters need to be addressed better (they should be punished accordingly and even given a ban if need be)
A while ago it was also said by someone representing Apex that most players are freeloaders. Most people around the world live in poverty with some being barely able to afford rent, let alone cosmetics and flashy items in a game. BUT this does NOT MEAN that they do not sometimes purchase items. This should also be a selling point to players like that because not everyone is wealthy and it helps keep the games population cap up.
Please when you post, make sure that the issue you are having has not already been posted, if it has, just give that particular post a +1 xp to limit the thread spam in here, but if you have a different variation of the post, feel free to post a comment.(Please note, this thread is to help inform Respawn as to why players are quitting and what everyone's PERSONAL opinions are towards the game, it is not to add to the despair of players quitting Apex, but as to WHY they are quitting so Respawn can bounce back from this loss and continue to be successful)

I think its a combination of things. But the main reason pros are quitting is because the game has run stale, you can't create content much anymore unless you run with patch updates and discussing that- meta changes etc. New weapons are scarce, a new map might help things. The servers are horrendous too.
Pros also can't pub stomp like they used to in pubs as most of their matches are pretty tough. Apex listened to them and allowed them to play with guys with k/d's just above 1.2 now, and some pub stomping is happening. But season 3 and 4 basically made them run for the hills.
The big reason the majority of the players (non-pros) are bailing on apex is sbmm imo. The majority of players have a k/d in the 0.7 to 1.7 range. Only the small percentage of bots have their own lobby. And I think it should stay like that. When they get better in those lobbies, they get promoted and if they can't hack it, they go back into the bot lobbies.
Sbmm needs a major revamp to allow the average player to enjoy their experience. I have a k/d just over 1.3 (when i started it was 0.7), and I'm getting into games with apex predators and 3 stacks regularly. I cannot get better at this game as a gold 1 to plat 4 player playing in those lobbies. I'm a bot now. I sometimes get lucky and get a lobby with guys who are my skill level and get a 5 to 8 kill game. I play ranked and in bronze and silver i dominate, gold i do well, and in plat i struggle. Why am I in those upper lobbies?
My solution, I'd like EA/Respawn to see this....
10% of lobbies are bot lobbies with k/d's under 0.4 and win percentages under 2%..and new players up to level 10 stay in these lobbies until the code figures out where they should be placed. If they suck, those players will always be protected. If you get better in those lobbies you get promoted. If you can't hack it and your k/d drops and win rate, you go down to the bot lobbies again.
Remaining 90% of pub lobbies have the remainder of players. (bronze 5%, silver 40%, Gold 35%, Plat 16, diamond 2%, pred 0.2%).
So the lobby will be comprised of those skill levels. Basically..it will take you longer to find a game if you're terrible and bronze level players k/d's around 0.4 to 0.6 with low win rate, and it will take longer for you to find a game if you're good, plat and above (k/d's over 1.7 and win rates above 8% say).
This will fix apex pubs imo. Means the lobby will have 12 players (20% of 60 players is 12) with k/d's above the normal tier. You may run into 3 stacks still (it'll be much harder for them to find a lobby together), but the majority of teams will be even. There is still sbmm, but it isn't alienating the average player anymore.
This needed to happen yesterday for pubs.

First, I don't really see a lot of people quitting Apex at all. And twitch stats, which companies use, seem to bear out that Apex is stable.
Having said that, I myself have gotten a bit bored. I'm finding the patch actually a bit lame and I hesitate to say that because it seems the dev team are really trying. They have some fun ideas. But the response to this game to me isn't what's necessary to really kick it off. Too many replies to things that for me don't really seem to matter.
But back to the original point, I don't see the population dropping in general. Just for me, I'm pretty bored by now with Kings Canyon, which I think is atrocious, and no new maps. Nerfing the havoc, buffing octane, making lifeline cool,...aren't even in the realm of the big things that are needed to me for this game to kick more booty.

All I can say is the reason I quit and won’t be coming back unless respown changes it the constant nerfs and buffs they give to characters! Respown needs to understand this, battle royal games are meant to be 100% even for every character. It was respown who took the chance at making legends have abilities but that’s no excuse to have legends be at a disadvantage from the start or an advantage at the start of a game that’s supposed to be even all around from the start! Another reason is because instead of listening to the average player they listen to pro players. One pro player complains about something and they nerf, rework it, or get rid of it completely. Like kings canyon at night, which was supposed to be a fun map got taken out because pro players kept complaining they couldn’t see which is BS cause I could see just fine on that map! Wraith who was a perfectly balanced character in season 1 and 2 is now a completely unplayable character for me so to the amount of nerfs she’s received, the pro players complained she was too hard to hit. The disruptor round which were a freaking blast and actually was my favorite hop up in the game in season 2 were taken out all together because pro players complained they were too OP. Now it’s the self revive that they are complaining about and its getting a rework for no reason other then a pro player that doesn’t like it. Respown if your reading this I have quit your game cause you can’t seem to understand that battle royal games need to be fair on all platforms. Put everyone’s hit box as the same and make all legends take the same damage, and stop listening to the pro players because everyone time they have a problem with something you change it and that hurts the average player like me! That is why I have officially quit this game and I can see this game dying in a matter of months if you continue down this road, there will never be a 10 year plan like you want because your too busy screwing this game up every time there’s an update! Listen to the average player base so that the game doesn’t die, and make everything 100% even for every legend, stop with the nerfs and buffs because it’s getting old and it’s getting on everyone last nerve!

@S8N_SpawnPlease actually read my post without commenting irrelevant info. Tired of replying to comments which have nothing to do with the post. If in English "I feel as though" somehow means "the community feels as though" then i don't know what to tell you.
