Apex is definitely the least tactical major BR game out there. It's a very run and gun game, and that is exactly because the TTK is so high (and I'm not even saying it should be lowered). But I keep hearing people say a high TTK means more tactics, but it's literally the opposite. High TTK+healing mechanics=demand for close-quarters combat. Snipers aren't that great for kill counts. They're a DPS support that only gets kills if someone else is assisting or if the target is a potato. Mid range is useful for lowering shields and health, but with high TTK+healing, you have to dive in and finish them off or you've wasted all your time. Add to this the speed and movement style, and you've got yourself an arcadey run-and-gun hearkening back to Unreal Tournament. You have to move in and land every shot. You could make the argument that the speed and mobility make flanking and positioning a more fluidly tactical experience, but again you run into the wall of high TTK, which still places fights where you outflank on potentially even footing. Take a look at some popular low TTK games. CS GO is fairly low TTK and it is pretty tactical. RS Siege is extremely low TTK and it's 100% a tactical experience. All much slower games with high consequences for being shot.

Best description of what's happening I've seen.
High ttk is not tactical. It.makes mid to low G range engagements worthless for killing.
Awesome post

I am second to this poster.
TTK is the ONLY and BIGGEST issue with Apex. It takes insanely lot of time and hits to kill an enemy, unlike in TF2, PUBG, BF series or Arma etc. All of my semi pro or pro FPS gamer friends say the same and got bored from Apex already and quit playing it because of the TTK. Shields and helmets are way too strong. You shoot an enemy in the back, he does not even spot you, you empty half a mag into his back and his is still at 70% health, hides and recovers in a second, returns with 1-2 squad mates or alterts enemy squads by the firefight and they finish you off...
Below is the result of our squad after the very first enemy contact at game start, 100%+ damages but no kills... this is the usual outcome of an Apex match. With the same damage you kill two enemies in any other FPS games whatever armor they have got...
I rather bought TF2 and play that instead where TTK is like 0.1-0.5 sec by most weapons.
APEX TTK is a catastrophe. Long TTK renders tactics and being the fastest to fire in game useless, but requires a wholly new skill: being pro in fighting down a single player as a 2-3 unit gang and running away from firefights to call buddies for help....
Ps.: I know what I am talking about, as I have 5k hours in BF4 HC alone, most of the time as Ace squad.

Welcome to shooters how they use to be. Where skill and movement are part of the game. Learn to move and learn to have a gun fight. it is fun and exciting once you learn that movement is just as important as aim and getting the drop. if you can move and aim at the same time you will be good at this game.

Lol no.
Been playing MP shooters since BF1942.
In no shooter that I've ever players did it take more than a clip to kill some one. Even if you didn't get all headshots.
Keep in mind this is mainly with white gear. I can understand with add ons that the ttk gets lower but by and large the high ttk makes mid range weapons obsolete. People will camp with the cqc and high damage weapons to get the kill.
Can't wait to see how BFV Firestorm plays.

Camping or slowly moving so you always see the enemy before they see you and get an easy kill - "Tactics"
I'm sorry guys you don't even know the meaning of the word tactics. Anything can be "tactical"; Run and gun IS a tactic the same way that camping is one.
It's fair to say that this game is more arcade than Arma and that's great. Because when you get 3 partied you have a chance to shot back.
I read people bragging about how they play HC and the "pros" friends are leaving due the lack of tactics. but here's the deal: There's tactics in the game, a properly executed ambush can and will wipe a team before they can react. But you need the know how and arguably have the aim to back the plan.
Yet the "tactical" people don't seen to realize that the "tactics" you use in others games will need to be adapted to work here. This is not Arma where the fact that you can see the enemy before he sees you means he is dead.
Being tactical is seeing the situation and learning how to adapt to it. That's the most basic thing anyone that actually knows anything about tactics will learn. (otherwise you try to "tactically" flank an enemy that waits you through a choke point)
Yet here we are, a bunch of "tactical" players that doesn't realize that the problem is their approach to the game at hand, that their "tactics" need to be changed or adapted. But no, they say that there's no "tactic" in this game.

The only players who do not mind high TTK are cheaters. High TTK favors cheaters for obvious reasons.
This also favors the team game and the penalty of lone wolves.
However, not only high TTK is an Apex problem. It is generally a weapon mechanics optimized to force players to play a team game, which is absurdly stupid. And the weapon in Apex Legends is very unbalanced.
- Some weapons have no recoil, some have a huge recoil.
- Some weapons are useless, some are OP.
- Most weapons have extremly low capacity magainzes, some have average or better.
- Sniper rifles have limitation of the shooting speed and extremly high bullet drop.
So what we have now? Wingman is better than Scout and Scout is better than Tripletake becasue this crap can't hit anyone from 50 meters because bullet drop. Nice idea, a energy weapon with extremly high bullet drop, but you can easy spray with Devotion for the horizon and kill someone.
Seems legit.

Destiny tried this in D2 Y1 and it failed miserably. Most players nowadays do not appreciate the 'team-shoot' mentality. They want to make the big plays themselves.
There are other ways to encourage teamwork then doing it artificially with a high TTK.
I'll keep saying it. High TTK reduces the effectiveness of mid to long range weapons. When an archetype is rendered useless people move to the ones that kill the quickest. That's why there such a meta here AND why shotgun use (with camping) is so prevalent. It's why we have the Wingman problem. People are not going to use weapons that don't work.
