The problem with the current rank system is it doesn't promote teamplay, it isn't rewarding enough for individual play and places too much emphasis on placement. Here is a redesigned ranked system that encompasses most aspects of the game while being more enjoyable to play:
For example, if you won a game, did 1,000 damage with 10 kills and 5 assists, as well as, revived 2 teammates and respawned 1 teammate. Your RP for the match would be: 51 RP. This is 3x the amount of the current maximum tripled (12 RP for a win plus 5 kills = 51), which is why we tripled the Rank Tier thresholds. The key difference is this system (or one like it) promotes better gameplay.
This system isn't perfect, and I'm sure people who really want to sit down and do the math can adjust these values properly to make them work better. But the point is: You're already tracking these metrics per match, why are you not promoting various aspects of gameplay to enhance team and individual play?
TL,DR - the RP available to be earned needs to be increased to allow more and different metrics to provide RP, enhancing and rewarding various aspects of playing Apex Legends.
