OP is right in a way, the training mode doesn't explain all the stuff.
For exemple, the golden armor gives you a auto revive capability, or the press E for a finisher move, or how to drop stuff, what are the space ships floating around, are the space pods dropping from a lifeline or a random loot box from a random event or that you should combine Wraith's TP and invisibility skills to use her skills more efficiently etc...
Maybe an encyclopedia that contains all the tips that are shown on the loading screen could solve this issue ?

The game is fine the way it is at teaching you the basics. It is trial and error. Games like "Fortnite" and "PUBG" don't even give you real tutorials in their battle royales. It is up to you, the player, to figure everything else out. It took me a couple of games to figure out the details of the game. Little things like holding shift and spacebar on a small wall to climb over or onto the roof became something I learned through playing the game. It may take sometime but it is perfect the way it is in my opinion.

@Coxy01 wrote:I have to highly disagree with you; I think this is the Easiest game to pick up and learn in my 10+ years of playing shooters. You don't have to end the tutorial mode when it asks you to and you can jump back into the tutorial mode whenever you please.
Are you on console or P.C?
And I have to highly disagree with you. The game lacks explanations for many of the important game changing mechanics in the game:
I only played 5 rounds. If any of this is incorrect, it only improves my point on how things need to be explained. Its true, playing a number of shooters can give you some logical reason onto how mechanics can work, however; being a Titanfall fanatic, seeing Apex Legends being a spin off of Titanfall's Apex Predators and seeing the game take place in the same realm before pilots and titans, the game had me confused and a bit clueless as to why any item im picking up is important to me.

I believe that you can do the training for as long as you want if you don't do the final objective, I might be wrong but I bet it is like that.

I can hardly believe why people agree with the OP, but there will always be dividedness on a subject. Maybe it's just the disagreeing people's common sense or understanding of gaming/BR that differentiates us from you guys. It can just also be that you guys don't wanna do trial-and-error and be grandmaster level from the get go by having everything explained to you.
First I'm not trying to be cocky and need some comparison factors but I've seen the reasoning 'tutorial doesn't explain much'. It shouldn't. A tutorial is, and I quote meriam-webster "a paper, book, film, or computer program that provides practical information about a specific subject", it is not however a full breakdown on how to play the game or an extensive explanation what what is. It is likely just a 'simulation', if you will, on how the guns shoot and to get a feel for the movement.
Secondly, most BRs don't even have a tutorial and people play them just fine. Why? Because they learn on the go. Isn't that the fun/best way to learn (some ppl will agree, some won't I know, it's based on preference)? I didn't even know how to climb until after 7 games and it could've helped me before those 7 but I felt a sense of satisfaction learning how to do it on my own.
If learning on your own isn't your way of doing things, you basically have the mightiest medium on your side called teh internetz. Which brings me to my next piece actually.
I read the comment by @pijcab about a build-in encyclopedia, which is a good one. That way ppl can look... but the question will be, will that feature only be while playing or also at the main menu. Cause else why bother tho. You are deep into reading and suddenly you die XD. If they add such a thing, it should definitely be accessible from the main menu onward.
Everybody's entitled to their opinions and people will likely be divided on this subject so let the convo continue.

I barely even play battle royales. I downloaded apex, started up the game, lost a couple rounds then won. I'm now level 37 with about 12 wins. Maybe you're just bad at this game.

@xerosum wrote:So let me get this straight.... you're upset that the other people who picked up the game at basically the same time as you are already better than you? They were given the same training and the same tutorial that you got. You all have had the same opportunity to learn. It's Battle Royale, half of the fun is trial and error. HAVE FUN!
"Explain same time as you..."? For someone to know more than another, they would have to either spent more time on it or had prior knowledge of the subject at hand.
Not everyone is a Battle Royale nerd. You are only defending for bad game development habits.
So let me get this straight... You are simply saying that being dropped into an MMORPG with no direction is completely fine?
Gotcha. Glad we cleared that up. Next.
