So your numbers were incredible. There were so many gamers leaving fortnite and pubg to come play Apex, including myself. Why are people going back to fortnite again??? The simple answer is content. There needs to be some sort of objective to keep playing. You can only do the exact same thing over and over again before you get tired of it. The way to get the players back is add content more frequently. It's so blatantly obvious to the gaming community with these battle Royale games and Apex as well as pubg ignore it. If you want players to stay without getting bored, focus on this one thing. It's so stupidly obvious that I'm embarrassed that this needs to be pointed out

The battle pass has a lot to do with this too. The whole point of the battle pass is to get players to play this game by making the rewards based on, well, playing the game. But the time investment needed made so much of the battle pass rewards out of reach for a majority of the players that, for me at least, made me give up on getting the rewards, regret my purchase, and start spending my time back on other games like Overwatch.

Well, I don't think it's that bad the pure player count right now is only 300k lower than Fortnite atm, with 2.7mil players.
PUBG has close to a million and overwatch has about 750K people playing it atm.
I haven't seen Apex under a 2 million player count yet.
So my guess is people stop playing Apex for 10min.
Play PUBG, Overwatch or that Bob The Builder fps game called Fortnite for 5 min and then go back to Apex.
I personally have an aversion towards Fortnite that I can't really grasp in words, I do not know why it exists.
It's a conundrum...
PS.
I have been thinking and I may be wrong but I think the only reason Fortnite has a higher player count is the playability
on iOS & Android devices.

For me, its about game play not so much the rewards. New maps, legends and guns would be cool and welcome but I am not hung up on it as some seem to be. Game Play in Apex IMO is far superior to Fortnite, plus I can't get over the whole "Bob the Builder" feel of that game (that was a good analogy!) I've raised kids and now have teenage grandkids, I've seen more Bob the Builder and Spongebob than I care to remember, I don't want that in my personal game time.
As far as numbers I don't think you will ever see Apex reach Fortnite numbers. Fortnite is much more accessible to the much younger audience. My daughter came over and walked in the room while I was playing and nearly fainted when she saw me restore my health with a syringe. "My kids are not playing that game!" was her reaction, and they are teenagers! (haha, not like she will be able to stop them!) So some of the under 10 crowd will have that parantal block put in front of them.
It will be 4 months on June 4th, and you guys are whining about content. I seriously doubt any of you understand the effort involved in creating said "content", but as we see, season 2 is nearly here and that content will arrive, so, stop complaing already!

For me its the pathfinder hitbox that hasnt been fixed for centuries... If this game somehow dies, so be it, respawn/ea doesnt deserve a praise for not fixing their games

Would love to hear your thoughts on the first details of the Battle Pass for Season 2 in the discussion we have here.

It seems more than the hit box, I sprayed a pathfinder with a peacekeeper the other night 4 time, hit sprites lighting up all over him and he berely registered any damaage. I was withing 10 feet of him so it was not a dispersal problem.

Mostly because the lack of skill based match making I suppose. As a newbie getting rolled by players with 5000+ kills constantly just gets sort of annoying after a little while.
