The current Apex Legends Matchmaking DESTROYS THE GAME

@TheApexLegendNub The sad part is that I have so many situations in which the enemy team is so surprisingly well coordinated and skilled, you may as well just sit still because it would make zero difference. I had a situation yesterday where my team and I dropped in the frozen tower on Worlds Edge. Another squad landed with us. It wasn't enough that our loot was terrible, our enemy squad immediately found weapons and begun chasing us. Not just were they aware at all times where exactly we were, we dropped like flies because our health bars went down incredibly fast. Those kinds of enemies are the worst. Pre-made (presumably), heavily skilled players who just screw you up entirely.

@NintekkdoThis game is too competetive for casuals that "just want to have fun" and the experience is too determined by the behaviour of other players. One player can easily sabotage your experience. Then you have the way they programmed the matchmaking and on top of that how toxic the legends are designed to pitch your mood leaning towards raging as a tolerated behavior.

I just came here to say the same thing. I have a group of friends and we have been getting into Apex together. We aren't very experienced video gamers and we aren't college kids anymore. We have jobs so we can only play for fun in the evenings and the past few weeks have seen every game mode populated with Apex Predator badges, 10k+ kill opponents, or Lvl 500 opponents (we just cracked Lvl 100). It makes hot drops impossible and even when we get one of these players on our team we feel completely useless as two pred players fight it out in Arena while the rest of us are killed on command. I love the game and have enjoyed getting into it, but the matchmaking is really trying to push us away.

I've been a huge fan of this game and still really enjoy the gameplay (thumbs up to the devs). Unfortunately whatever is happening with matchmaking has ruined the experience for me and I've uninstalled the game. I'm an above average, but not great player. Been playing since the beginning, daily for past 18 months. Spent on every season and put the time into improving my skill. Sadly I just can't take it anymore. 

Metrics will show I'm a highly engaged player, yet the reality is that I'm chasing one good game amongst dozens of games against players that destroy me. All while watching my stats drip ever lower. Every game is a sweaty exercise in frustration. This really saddens me and I'll happily come back when I start reading that something is being done to bring back a more casual experience in pubs. 

Special note to whoever is making the decisions about sbmm (eomm, elo, or whatever flavor you're using)... please consider that in pursuit of "engagement" you've lost someone who's spent hundreds of dollars and would have continued spending (and advocating) on this otherwise great game. Also, maybe do an honest survey and see just how many of your highly engaged players are actually having fun. You just might find that engagement does not equal fun.

My 2 Friends an myself also quit Apex. We are new Players and started with Season 9. Since we always play together (my friends on a Switch lite wich is already a hughe disadvantage), we get put in Mega Pred Sweat Lobby’s because we join as a „premade“ Squad. It’s no fun at all and we went back to Fortnite…

Arena was fun for a while and the Matchmaking was ok there but it’s getting old…

You are right every time i play casual i have games with preds 4 k damege en 20 kill badge when ik ho ranked it feels like normal pubs schould be like ranked is now easy mode

And i dont like it

I don't think SBMM is going away soon, but I very much feel the sentiment of having engagement over fun.

In other games, like CoD MW2, I don't really worry too much about who's in my team, how I got killed, my K/D, etc. because I know that if this match is a bit of a * up, the next one will be alright.

This is not because I'm put in a lower level match, but just because the lobby sticks together and you can get a feel for the level of your lobby and adjust your skills.

Here, I instantly feel like quitting when I win, because I know that I am now being put in a higher lobby which will just * up my stats

Same with ranked, I did ranked in S8 for the first time and got to Plat with ease, now I am getting set back in Gold 2, like even the ranked lobbies have SBMM in them apparently.

If I am gonna be screwed around like this, then at least have the game be fair.

However, that will never be the case, as you're gonna have randos in your team which will bring you down, you'll have button inputs which won't work and thus make you die and just * luck.

That's just super annoying.

I think what would be a good solution is, if we're gonna have SBMM, why not display the level of our lobbies and then make you choose out of 3 lobbies.

So e.g.: if my SBMM algorithm decides that I am good enough to be put in a tier 4 lobby, then tell me that and let me choose between tier 3-4-5 lobbies.

Like so I can tell when my lobby level switches, and it will make a bit more sense when I go from 10 kills a match to losing right out the gate.

Also it will give people some agency to choose what they want to play

If Respawn and EA actually cared about the matchmaking, an attempt for a change would have already been made. The topic of SBMM isn't new and is being brought up daily. It's impossible to not be aware of the frustration the players go through. With the intensity of frustration regarding this topic it at least would have been a priority. But what do players get instead? Silence. There are no announcements or acknowledgements being made regarding SBMM from the developers.

And it's not like Respawn and EA don't have the capabilities. And the amount of players that usually play per day is more than sufficient to make the change without much repercussion on the queue time. I would be willing to wait for a minute or two, if I can be sure that the match I get into actually has quality attached to it. As of right now, every second match is about me shredding the competition, or getting shredded completely and utterly. If this is EA's and Respawn's definition of how a game should work and keeps you engaged and having fun, then damn...

@Nintekkdo yeah totaly agree!!! today I hit my smurf account to lvl 15 and whola predators as enemys but thats ok if I wouldn't recive +70% extra ping for no reason and big input lagg and 3/4 bullets not registered.. befor rank 15 my bullets were actually doing dmg my avg dmg in 30 games was 1.5k I make 2k dmg EZ every game. after 5 games played in rank 15 my avg dmg drops and k/d goes from 5 to 3 just like that... If u respawn kids think we are stupid you must be totaly wrong! your game is a JOKE and nothing more... PEACE
