@DaWiz2015 I don't understand why the developers felt like it was really needed to lash out on the community, specifically when their response feels like we're all being rude to them.
I'd admit there's plenty of people in Apex who are rude, and leave matches, or simply don't respawn you and all that, but that's the nature of humans. Not all of us are nice. But to sit at a computer and tell the community we're freeloaders and whatnot is just too far.
Considering the amount of money some people are willing to actually paid, is really that much to ask for more stable servers and improvements? Typically you can't make everyone happy, but you would think a company like Respawn would improve the game and make it less focus on getting money.
If the prices were reasonable, chances are more people would buy it. It needs to be taken into consideration that everyone have bills, rent, and even subscriptions to cable, Netflix and/or Hulu, and maybe even online services like Xbox Live and Play Station Gold. As such, most people don't have a lot of money to spend and normally people are barely getting by.
The fact of the matter is that with every game, there's expectations and when the developer of that game neglects it, they're going to get feedback, whether it's good or bad. The community has been giving suggestions on how to make it better, and hoped it would get better.
But it would seem that the only thing that will happen is more bugs and microtransactions. I've only spent $10 on the battle pass of Season 1, and don't plan on getting items that seem overpriced to me. Is that wrong? Does that make me an *? Does that make me a freeloader? A *? Not really, it's the fact that I'm not wanting to put myself out when there's bills and other things to pay and take care of.
For the players who do attack the developers, they should be going about it with more respect, but like if they choose not to, then the developers should still remain nice about it. I've been in many situations where a person was mean and when I treat them with respect and that of an equal, they were normally nice back.
This response only made those who were angry, more upset, and those who held on in peace start to lose the respect they had.
I don't know if Respawn would be able to make a turn around and come back from the backlash they had shown the community. I get people from the community are mean and crule, but in most people's eyes, in regards to toxicity, most try their best to ignore it. I personally keep the voice chat volume off, and only really turn it on if the person talking seems nice enough to hear. I've encountered many people who were what the developers probably called an "*" and whatnot, but I chose to ignore them.
I get people calling me trash a lot, and my thing is that I am and my bad pc isn't exactly helping, but neither is the netcode and other issues that I've experienced. Still, I hope that the servers get better and eventually I will get a new computer.
The thing is normally a company has to take the feedback, even if it's bad. If they can't do that, then they will lose any hope of being successful. I really love Apex and even stopped playing Fortnite because it had won my heart over. But this response from the Developers left me feeling sad, because I know that it would kickoff the game being no longer a thing. Players are already leaving, and I'm sure eventually no one will wanna play.
Respawn, I really hope you are able to fix the game and give it the much needed love and attention it deserves and to try your best to see past the hate in people's posts. You don't have to fall victim to the hate yourself.
