Leaving in casual has nothing to do with the matchmaking. People do it, including me, because there are literally no reasons to stay in a match with a team of random players and maybe have your banner picked up and then maybe get respawned at a beacon just to come back with nothing in your inventory and a big target painted on your back as 2-3 teams are running towards the respawn drop ship. Its just much easier to quit and join another match...
Bottom line is that winning a causal game with randoms is far, faaaaar, less important to player than having a good game. However, I do support @AirsoftPro13 suggestion with a timeout timer equivalent to the banner time out. Its not a severe punishment but it will add some incentives to stay so that causal matches might even have more than 10 players left after the first round =)
But there has to be some kind of detection system that allows you to join another match IF your remaining surviving teammates are not likely to pick you up, like if they are far away from your death box. Otherwise, there will be alot of rage and frustration when you have to wait 120 seconds because your random teammate jumped solo on the other side of the map etc

@AirsoftPro13Everyone is looking for a punishment and penalties for quitter, but I think they need to add a motivation inested.
Simply if there was a better prize for staying and if there was a bit more fair matchmaking, no one would have left the match.
When I'm lv 350, simple diamond player, put in a team with two other players, one at lv 2 and other one at lv 10... how do you expect me to have enough motivation to remain in a casual game?
The only motivation in casual mode now is just getting more wins and more kills for me, and when I can see this will never happen, then I have no other reason staying in that match.
One short story of a very recent game that happened to me: I killed 5, get to top 2, get a devotion from a pack and give it to my teammate. Take down 2 out 3 members of last squad, but then I got down and my teammate couldn't kill last half life enemy with his devotion. Both my teammates had 200 damages all together and 0 kills. How many matches I can tolerate like that? I prefer to leave until I see a hope and good teammates. There is NO FUN and NO PRIZE and NO MOTIVATION to remain in a bad team.

While yes leavers are a problem and i agree the pickup time should be increased it has more so to do with the whole downed state mechanic, knockdown shields and just how aggressive matches can be.
As it is even with a purple or gold knockdown shield, you're down you are pretty much dead because lets give a generous 6 out of 10 times players will be thirsted down by enemy squads because of the number of players who will play hyper aggressive early game and due to it being pretty easy to just go around the shield making the item borderline pointless which begs the question why even have them to begin with? as well as why not change/improve how they work?
There is just too many things in this game that need to be changed to make it more tolerable instead of it staying as this bullet race it has become.
