Ok i will start with saying i love Apex Legends.
I started out with more or less no online gaming experience and this game just pulled me in and i have played everyday more or less sinc the beginning missing only a few days.
In season 2 i saw improvments, i got higher damage then ever, more kills. Hitting my shots, many hours in Kings Canyon were giving results. The game was more fun then ever!
But it was not a easy path, i was killed so often and so much that loads of people whould have unistalled the game and left.
We had code leaf, disconections, server issues tons of stuff.
I just wanted to get better so i grinded on and it was always fun... always fun.
My fingers and joints were taking a bad beating, but all i want is to play and improve. To be honest i am not even close to my goals of 20kill badge or 4000k damage. Right now it's the 4 sword badge i am working on.
I spent hours on Youtube, podcasts while on work, learning, watching, listening.
Ok you get the point i am obsessed about this game, i love Apex Legends.
Well, season 3 hits after a few hours of the best games i have had in Kings Canyon.
Now downloding, buying the premium battle pass (as i always have) Got the biggest pack of coins sinc i want to unlock as much as possible. I want to support the game i love, and i have spent a good amount of apex coins on cosmetics. Not talk about buying a new tv, new elit controller, xbox one x, headset, everything that might help me towards my goals.
But wow, the new map...
Me and my team who were so hyped over season 3 was just hit with the hardest blow ever. This game is not the same, it's not the Apex we loved, i love. I am sad, i feel lost, it's not the same. Feels like i am forced to adapt a new playstyle.
This new map is way to big, it can't be played the same. Sure i spent a few hours playing yesterday, we killed people but all we talked was about how chould this happen? Why not 2 maps? let us decide on what map we want to play? Did we the players really want this?
I am trying to get close to other teams as i like it, but running in a endless open field is not my type of fun.
Buildings with how many floors? 4,5,6?
Can people even camp any more?
I don't camp but what about those who like that style.
I can't get to my team, it's not enough time when they are attacked.
Love the new updates, skins, hopups, everything is really cool. G7 scout with burst? Yes please. So much fun and exciting things but the one thing... new map.
I hear it all over, people are not happy at all.
I will continue to play today, but i am not looking forward to it. It was the thing i looked forward to always. Get home after work, fix everything that needs to and then a few relaxing hours of fun in Kings Canyon with my friends.
I might be the one who need to change, Kings Canyon is a thing of the past now.
Time will tell if i will continue to play Apex, right now it's like a hard break up, feeling so strong for the old map, old style of play that i like, that feeling is gone. It might be best to say goodbye. But... my team, the fun, i don't want it to be gone.
Well huge fist bump to those who actualy read it all, it's long and it's personal, tons of misspellings and what not. I might feel way more about this game then the rest of you, but yeah Apex is or was awesome.
Thanks!

Just finished my second play session since S3, and the map hasn't warmed on me at all.
I don't mind the legend changes, nor the weapon changes (though the charge rifle is far too strong atm).
However the map is simply too sparse; both the loot within the areas of interest, and the areas of interest themselves.
Consequently the proportion of time spent during the initial looting phase is just far too long compared to how quickly combat is usually resolved.
I don't doubt the work that's gone into the map's creation, but I just don't find it fun. It's made Apex too much like the laborious gameplay of other BRs.
It needs distilling down into something of similar size to KC.
