As a player of the game I am now fairly addicted to, Apex Legends, I'm hoping some early-ish feedback would be appreciated, so here I go. This feedback will be in the form of complaints and suggestions to please consider.
For one. Crashes are always an issue for a newly released game, and Apex Legends is no exception. I feel the need to address all my qualms with this game's current patch to push the thorough nature of my post. I myself have not had so many problems as many others luckily but I feel for them as sometimes fixes for games don't come out for months and I'm unable to play them, I wouldn't want to wish someone that fear of not being able to play a game all their friends are talking about and are excited to play.
Secondly, I understand the loot box system that paid loot boxes are much, much better than the free ones given every level and then every second level, the latter containing more commons and rares and mostly impossible to gain anything legendary from. I was thinking perhaps earned tokens from leveling up could also be gained in other ways such as killing the champion or being kill leader for a certain time or even implement an achievement system. In saying that, those tokens could be used to perhaps buy a limited amount of metal fragments each week or buy the low-tier loot boxes that you get from leveling. On top of that you could have a tiered system dependent on how many tokens the player would wish to spend. For examples a player could spend tokens to buy loot boxes with certain higher percentages of each rarity such as a common, rare and epic loot box containing perhaps only one item, but that item has a higher chance to be one of those rarities. I recommend these systems because once the legends players want are unlocked there are unused and boring tokens with to system to make players feel any sense of progression while playing the game; just pure addiction to make then want to keep playing. I support the paid loot box system as Apex Legends is a FREE game and some people just don't understand that.
Now on to Game play. As an avid FPS player and Battle Royale player I know that gun balance is extremely important to how a game succeeds, and the Wingman heavy pistol is perhaps balanced already but could use a lower fire rate as 40-45 damage every second can destroy someone maybe too quickly. A nerf to its fire rate to maybe half of its original could prove more balanced, but perhaps it SHOULD stay the way it is as not every gun can be the same. If its fire rate or damage stays the same, the hip-fire spread should be much larger so as to promote skill and aim when using such a powerful weapon.
My second qualm is shotguns, they are often the reason for my death in-game as they are very inconsistent there are times when they will do 80, 84 and then 102 and others it will do 15, 8 and 18 at similar distances. I am referring to the Peacekeeper shotgun without the precision choke hop-up attachment and with personal experience rather than experiments. I am unsure if a buff is required or if damage falloff numbers could be released because I feel like whenever I shoot a shotgun I don't know if it will even do more than 10 damage, I could hip fire my assault rifle for more damage than the inconsistency of a shotgun, but then again, this game is new and I am more than likely using it wrong.
Thirdly, the respawn system is absolutely unique to the Battle Royale scene, and its fantastic. My only issue is the very short time in which you can collect a teammate's banner. Personally I believe perhaps another 30-40 seconds on top on the current timer would be much easier and much less panicked, but certainly if that is what is intended so be it.
one last game play recommendation is some way for the players to seek out champions and perhaps kill leaders. The first thing to come to mind was a terrible idea; to put them on the map, the second was much more interesting. Pathfinder uses relays the find out where the next Ring will be, instead he could have a choice to between the next ring or where the champion is if they're still alive that is. Another idea was one of the future legends with the same 'Radar' class as Blood Hound could track the champion in some way.
Edit: Some quick additional qualms:
In-game mic quality is extremely bad and would like a fix as soon as possible as I fear talking to someone and not being able to understand what my team is even saying at an important time such as in a fight which could be the difference between winning or losing.
Another thing is that in-game sound is nice but the game needs better directional sound. Perhaps louder footsteps of enemies and on top of that sometimes I really can't tell if an enemy is behind me or in front of me, even with my 7.1 surround sound headset.
Also, not just me, but a few streamers and Youtubers as well as friends sometimes cannot distinguish between friend and foe when close up as the white outlines fades as well as the name tag. Its a great effect, yet it confuses so many. Perhaps letting this outline last longer before fading or adding seen enemy outlines, the latter a last resort as it messes with the game's character that you need to spot enemies with your eyes rather than let the game tell you where they are.
This is all for now.
Sincerely hopeful player, Teazal

They need to make it where wraith can’t be hit when she phases because she isn’t a physical object at that moment so how can bullet penatrate her? Makes me really mad

This is a suggestion to Respawn/EA. This idea is not intended to reduce or diminish the loot boxes. I understand why they are there and since this game is not pay to win, I have no problem with loot boxes. This is more to do with using an in game form of currency, the credits/ red coins that you can use to unlock legends. That is it, you can unlock the new legends with them, that is about it. My idea is to allow players to use those coins to tweak/ adjust skins that they have already unlocked. For example if you have a legendary skin but don't like the color scheme of it. Let players use those credits to tweak the colors of skins. Let them change the hairstyles/ hair color of the legends. Let people put tattoos and other things on the legends and the weapons to truly customize their favorite characters without taking anything away from the loot boxes. I think this would encourage people to keep playing after they max out their battle pass because they can continue to earn the credits and customize the legends.

This suggestion is from me and mostly every player that plays apex! Please make it so we can pop a syringe in the second circle when you get picked up, no reason why you should t be able too.

The voice system needs a massive rework as I can barely hear people but hardly anyone uses mics anyway.
90 seconds is plenty of time to collect a respawn banner. Use crypto if it's outside the ring.
