Cross-purchase for Apex Legends has been vetoed in the past, I’m aware. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who, as the console lifecycle ends, is considering a different ecosystem (for me, already in the process of PS4 > PC).
I would love to see an option to transfer, even it cost me money. Hell, if it cost $100 to move skins and other over, I wouldn’t hesitate.
I have played and supported this game from day 1. I have over $500 wrapped up in it. Because I love every part of it, the art, the music packs, etc. I’m on the store every Friday and Saturday, eager to see the recolors.
I completely respect the various relationships at play here, between EA and Sony and Microsoft. I’m not hoping for anything for free. I just would love to see an option for me and others who want to continue to support this thing and not have huge (e.g. $500) regrets.

As much as i agree with you this should be easily doable for then and they should support the community supporting them.
But consoles are not dying. Far from it
The current known specs of the new consoles are pretty good.

Absolutely true that consoles are not dying. But I think it’s fair to assume that there are some that will make ecosystem shifts, even if it’s Playstation to Microsoft. I guess I understand the business side of no cross-purchase, that this is largely an issue on e.g. Sony’s end.
It’s a money issue, I assume. So what if there was a way to pay to transfer? I’ve already given EA+Sony a ton of money for what I have. Even if I was filthy rich I couldn’t spend my way to the collection I had because it’s made up of timed exclusives, now unavailable.
Seriously EA, Sony, Respawn—I have $100 for whoever can make a copy+paste of my purchases to PC. Because that would feel like a less serious loss.
