I am impartial to like/dislike. It seems that I always get paired up with people who are far worse than me in my team, and get put against entire squads that are far better.
Remove the distinction between ranked and unranked, Make everybody ranked, period. If you're casual, you'll stay in the bronze tier anyways. I feel like it separates the player base too much. You have a group who only plays ranked and a group who only plays unranked. Then you get players who are gold in ranked with 20k+ kills and they get tired of actually playing against people who can wreck them, or tired of camping all day, and come play unranked and just wreck the entire match in 5 minutes. This is unfair to the 57 other players who just want to fight against equally skilled. Players this good should not be put into games with players who can barely kill 1 person (like myself).
A more complex thought for matchmaking -
Take the highest amount of account-wide kills any one person has, and make 10 divided sections in between. Call this a "Kills Band". This band is invisible as to not promote elitism and arrogance. Inside this kills band, you further divide the band into scaling 3-10 slices (based on number of people online) based on account wide overall KDR. Call this "KDR Band" If server populations are low, 3 bands divided by 33% lowest KDR, 33% highest kdr, and the 34% inbetween should help keep que times shorter. As the servers get a higher player volume (evening, weekends, etc), add additional slices to help keep players playing against similarly kills and skilled opponents. There should be no way to opt out of this.
If something like this isn't done, there are countless of threads on the forums of players who will move on to other games. Its not fun for a weaker player to get destroyed by someone with 20 kill badge and 30,000 kills every other match. Spend more time in the lobby than playing the game. It's stupid IMO and a waste of time. And it most certainly must get very boring for those people who wreck 20+ people every match.
As stated, these are just my opinions. Feel free to discuss.
If you can barely kill one person you should defenitely play ranked. Then you would not meet players with 20k kills from gold or higher. Or maybe sometimes you could be unluckey and meet a gold player depending on the queue times and players available. That's why unranked are more of a mismatch because they prioritize the queue times. It's for people that just wanna play regardless of who's in the game.
I think their goal is to get everyones K/D to be 1.0. In that way most people will have fun... Only players high above average and below can't really hit 1.0. Everytime I do good I get a whole day of games with people wrecking me, then the day after I'm wrecking... My Battlefield account is also around 1.0 K/D, and I don't think it's a coincidence..
If you play ranked then on a long enough timeline - you're DEFINITELY going to meet players a lot better than you, as you cannot drop ranks.
