I actually counted 11 crates and 2 buildings that were previously unlooted, in the about 8 minutes I spent looting those the last crate was the only one that had meds, 2 syringes, which is what I was looking for the entire time. There has to be some kind of balance put into the maps loot distribution. I've actually seen a building that contained nothing but 4 backpacks, in solo mode.

Last game, search 5 supply bins in that new octane jump pad area. 0 shield 1 gun. Go over to my team to search a few more. 0 shields and no gun
Next match me and my whole team search ALL OF AIRBASE and that little town between airbase and bunker and we all have level 1 shield . The team that killed us all had purple/gold. It was still pretty early game. The loot in this game is so damn frustrating

What do you do in situations where you don't see any loot in the first couple bins you open at a hot drop where there are likely 2+ other squads looting the other bins that likely had the weapons in them?

Loot all of gauntlet. All of thunder dome.
Find purple shield. Nice
Purple backpack. Nice
Literally didn't find a single syringe or medkit. 700 damage to my team mates 50 and 63. Couldn't heal myself. Great loot. How do I not find a single health item

That and the fact that you'll drop into some place and there will be nothing but G7's or P2020.. Really? Can't get some variation on the weapons? Variation would be great if they offered it.
I believe they are using an RNG for the loot distribution. Hot Zones have a RNG that's more likely to produce more desirable loot. The problem with RNG's is that this type of thing can happen. One solution could be to have Certain loot boxes/locations be meds, energy cells/batteries, syringes and son. While other boxes are nothing but ammo. i think the issue with this, you'll get less randomness with the loot distribution. That will lead to very predictable loot boxes/locations. People who play a lot will memorize the locations of the loot.. They will then be able to skip areas/boxes that contain things they don't desire. For example, if you're looking for syringes like you were and you know that only 2 or 3 loot boxes/locations in the given area have that.. You won't check the other locations, you'll just hit the 3 you know of and move on.
It would create a huge advantage for people who play a lot.

I've never had an airbase drop be that bad or gauntlet. There are definitely plenty of shields and guns at Gauntlet, same with airbase. Typically 99% of the games I play and land at airbase have at least 1-2 blue shields. All purple and all gold is rare in the first few seconds of the game but can happen if they hit the drop ship and a high tier loot area.
