1k hour and 10k kills on my main legend, I know people who just started also wanted to have fun but what about we pred and diamond player who spent hours and hours practicing and getting better at the game every day? I can understand if we tried hard every game it won't be fun for newer players but it wouldn't be fun for us (at least me) too. If I wanted to tryhard then I'd just hop in ranked with my mates.
When I hop in for casual, I just wanted to have fun and not try and not think. Most of the time I'd just run in without caring if I survived. If I survive, that's great but if I died that's fine too because I am not going full tryhard and raging and stuff. Newer players would even have a chance against stupid diamond players like me in casual. You win some, I win some - I'd see that as a healthy everyday gaming but now I can't play w/o premades. Doesn't matter if it is ranked or ranked lite

Thank you @ApexSBMMbadd for your response and feelings. My recommendation mentioned is meant to address the concerns of these new and less-skilled players. Players who get better at the game should not feel punished. This goes further beyond predator and diamond level players. I recently saw a post here regarding a person who struggled hard getting to diamond. Only to realize he hit his skill ceiling for the moment once he got to Diamond IV. He proceeded to swap to casual games and now claims to primarily run into higher level players, such as diamond and predators, he cannot play with his friends either... He wants to unrank from diamond because he is unhappy and unable to compete in casual at that level alone or with his friends.
I also mentioned in a response here, that the players arguing in favor of SBMM should be considerate to what I just mentioned but also the fact that as you advance to higher levels of play, other people punish you especially for mistakes. The degree at which you have to perform is well beyond what is expected of someone who just wants play casually. If I need to crouch spam, quick peak, and time every little action perfectly to even have a chance at getting a victory, and try to severely outplay premade teams on top of that, that is hugely exhaustive and is boring if I just wanted to experience the game. I enjoy competitive when I choose to play competitive, and casuals when I choose to play casuals. Now? I don't see a huge difference between the two, especially when I solo queue in casuals.

Ok, let's talk about it
The big issue with SBMM is that it wasn't here from the start, it should've been added at least before the stats page to the game. No SBMM + smurfing allowed for a lot of unbalanced matches where skilled players built inaccurately high stats by dropping like wolves among sheep.
I don't get players complaining about not being able to play relaxed. Apex is, by definition, a fast paced fps about survival, not an adventure game where you can stare at the environment for hours and pause at any time for a breather. This is like complaining about not being able to stretch comfortably in an F1 car and take it for a Sunday drive on urban streets.
How does a skilled player define fun? 10+ kills/ game? If so, then for each player having fun, there are up to 10 others that don't. Should Respawn cater to the player that is already hooked, has probably spent a considerable amount of money by now and enjoyed many hundreds of hours of playtime in return, or to the other 5-10, that aren't even hooked yet and will probably leave before spending any money, because of getting stomped again & again ? I'd say the answer is obvious.
Your recommendation suggests that only some of the meat should be thrown to the lions. The only fair choice would be to let "the meat" decide if it wants to be thrown as food for the apex predators. Some may want to see how fast they "get chewed, others may risk it in order to play with their favorite streamer/ highly skilled friend or to get to spectate highly skilled games live, so maybe a "brown pants on/off" checkbox should be added to the game .

It seems again like people haven't or did not read my post fully. Perhaps you should read what I wrote before you decided to write out everything you did. Firstly, this is a discussion. Not a complaining session or a place for you to lie and be passive-aggressive. There is a difference between what you describe as playing 'relaxed' and experiencing the game in a casual, less competitive way (Unranked). I work for my kills as much as or more than others and you implying that I'm just a hungry wolf looking for more kills or nonsensically complaining is a lie and deliberately misconstruing the entirety of my post in a very passive-aggressive way. I do not know if you have an issue with predator players, but you don't seem to get that right now, there is no casual experience in public matches for me. As I described the average skill level in my public unranked matches tends to be minimum platinum minimum, that meaning it tends to be higher. Most squads tend to be made of a pre-made party, meaning three people. I am unable to solo queue without severely outplaying an enemy team to win. I cannot play with most of my friends, they are unable to fight people that I fight because they are not as skilled as I am.
Let's talk about fun since you brought it up. I don't know who you are talking with, but I never said getting 10+ Kills a game was my or anyone else's definition of fun? That's not my argument at all. And I fail to see how it could even be implied from my post. So I'm just going to ignore that argument from you. Despite you seeming to have responded to my recommendation, your response here seems a bit daft and is making this a black and white issue of either caring for people who play more and pay for skins versus newer players. This issue is not black and white, and I think my recommendation is a way to approach the grey area in the discussion about changing SBMM. I'm also not even arguing what you seem to be, so how about we stay on the same track? I said the primary goal of SBMM is to encourage a space for newer players to not feel intimidated by players with a better understanding of the game. I never disagreed with that goal. I think it is good to encourage new players time to develop enough skills and game sense to enter higher tier lobbies. But I'd also love for there to be no SBMM so that I could play with even the newest of players, on my team or as an enemy (I really like playing with new people.). If Respawn prioritizes the newest player's experience and I cannot play with or against them, I understand. However, I do not think this current model of SBMM is the way to do it. It will only inevitably punish people as they get better at the game. I made that clear with my statement where I said "You get better, or just die.".
To be honest, I don't think you understand how ironic your recommendation is or that you read mine. Letting people choose what experience they want already exist. It's called ranked. If Respawn does want to prioritize designing a space for new players to grow in casual matches and keep them, I would say SBMM is an inefficient system given how I feel and it will inevitably wear down on everyone as they get better at the game. I offered a recommendation on that basis, I want to enjoy this game with all my friends and with random people.

@highOctane91prem
They have discouraged players from spending money indirectly
Not sure how many people have noticed but the ranked system is highly dependent on matches played. Just make a smurf account to see it. So far I have seen 3 lower skill tiers of gameplay as I've built my new account in the recent week.
This is the only way I have been able to enjoy the game over the course of the last few weeks.
To clarify, I'm not attempting to destroy new players. My only intention is to prevent my friends from having to play up to my regular lobby's skill level.
I certainly have no intention of buying anything on a secondary account which will only be used until I am placed in predator lobbies again.

I can't queue solo anymore and just have fun, game has got to the point now where I may as well play ranked as it would be easier!
I love this game but I can't enjoy it anymore in the current state it's in.

Since I have responded on most other threads on this topic might as well here too.
If you have played since introduction of game(Prior to season 1), there was always the random factor of good/great enemies or potato enemies. There was also as a solo player a chance for the same in your teammates.
I have played pre-mades and solo since day one, maybe day 2 I don't remember if I played on launch day or not. Anyways early on the experience was good game wise in regards to random teammates, sometimes you gelled sometimes you just couldn't play as a team whether it was skill gap communication what have you. It happens.
Fast forward to the end of season 2 I noticed and commented here in the boards about an uptick in lower level players becoming the norm for my fill teammates, yet I was still facing higher skilled opponents on the regular. Fast forward to when the SBMM controversy hit and here we are. It wasn't just my imagination about what I was seeing. I am getting games with decent damage but certainly less kills and my KDR has dropped. Not a big deal, but it is a mitigating factor when you are talking about a dynamic shift in how you are matched to your teammates and who you are facing.
I have said my peace about this topic plenty of other places.
Here I go again, I do not want to pub stomp, noob drop or whatever you want to call it. I miss the balance this game had in Season 1 an part of 2. Sometimes you got trash teammates, sometimes you got Gods and sometimes you got players like myself as teammates and also as opponents. By players like myself I mean decent but not destroyers of worlds.
For those that are going to decry you just want to noob stomp, really? Were you here early game running into guys with 10,,000 kills in the third week of release? Did it suck? Yeah sort of, it made me up my game and get better to be able to deal with the varied(see that<<<<<<varied) players I would meet and have on my team.
Guess what, look at the posts regarding this and the theme you will see is if you are squadded with randoms the lobby is going to be based on the highest ranked member in that squad, isn't that what the f rank is for? I f I am unlucky enough which has been the case almost every game since solo play about 2-3 weeks ago to be teamed up with sub level 100's they get to come play with me in a lobby full of higher skilled players regardless of what you think of SBMM.
So in the end what has changed is the randomness of once in awhile getting decent players for your teammates let alone the opponents you will face. Yes I am facing similarily skilled opponents, but with out the benefit of the same in my teammates.
Anyone who wants to keep on with the argument of you just want to kill noobs, keep it up. Because the lobbies will eventually be full of noobs and those of us that were enjoying the variety of the game will move on. And you can say good riddance, but I speak for myself alone on this I am one of the whales between my and my sons accounts that is funding the ability for this game to keep up. This isn't a case for me to say oh I payed and give me what I want, this is just a fact I invested in this game and took a gamble that it would move in what I perceived to be a good direction. I was wrong and will not be spending any more money and a lot less time on this game because of this.
To summarize in all honesty if you want balance play ranked if you want to chill out playing casual use to be the way to go.Not anymore, play ranked to warm up for the casual games.
There is an awesome video on reddit right now that summarizes it quite well. * and his minions discussing SBMM. If you want a laugh go check it out.

All they need to do is get rid of being able to see player stats, other than the level they are at...problem solved!
You're welcome...If anyone needs me, I'll be in the back tossing bills...
