Hey,
Not sure if there is a penalty already but it seems to me that there isn't because 7 out of 10 games [with randoms] in season 4 tend to end in premature disconnection, often already when downed and not dead yet. I am really really REALLY getting tired of this.
Right now, a player [who queues solo] seems to have 2 choices:
A: Play ranked and enjoy a game with people who actually stay and want to win (mostly anyways) [But, what if you don't want to tryhard right now and just want some fun?]
B: Play non-ranked and get a 75% chance of a waste of time due to solo-droppers who die alone and then disconnect or people who stay with the team but also disconnect upon knockdown.
So, is B really a valid option? I say no. Not until there is proper punishment for this behavior.
Idea: You could even incentivise people to stay by lets say "Do not prematurely disconnect in 100/200/300 etc. games and get a nice skin?"

@MrZentriererHonestly if they add punishments to casual this games dead, ranked punishments are enough if they start adding punishments in casual it will affect everyone even players who get crashes and will turn alot of players away rather quickly if they are getting penalties in every single mode of the game wether its their fault or not, this game shouldn’t have any more penalties in my oppinion until they fix all of the server problems with this game and all of the freezes/crashes, also they need permanent solos and duos first as not having those modes is part of the main reason players leave as soon as they die, the other problem is their teammates are goofing off or if you have played aslong as I have can just tell when you and another teammate are knocked the guy thats level 34 with 4 kills isn’t gonna win the fight against 2-3 enemies
i know for a fact if they added permanent solos I would not rage quit as often as I currently do, If the dropship starts at overlook and my teammates want to land on the other side of the map and loot the whole game I started just hot dropping getting some kills and have managed to become the kill leader frequently doing that and even won the game a few times just because im alone and don’t have to worry about anyone else but most of the time they drop with me so its fine, i had 80 wins in season 3 and in the first weekish of season 4 im already over 20 wins just doing my own thing every now and then, I don’t do it every single game but after awhile i get sick of squads and just drop solo a bit or stay with my squad but solo ish and just push any fights I see its making me a better fighter imo Ive actually went from about 3-5 kills to getting 4-9 kills frequently when I go back to squads and have almost hit 2k damage a few times but the main issue is when I first wake up im alert and do great but after a few hours you get burnt out and thats when Im sick of other players and ready to be solo and just do my own thing and relax like with a squad i may try over 10 games to do a simple challenge but with them dying instantly or me dying instantly its just impossible but if I solo drop i can usually finish the challenge or most if it in one match vs 10-15 with teammates

you are seriously ❤️❤️❤️❤️?

i also want to queue with people that are the same level / kd level as me and do you think there is going to be any changes?
so it is either make some fuking friend or don't play an online game.

Look at how cute you are, XvinzmanX.
League of Legends is a prime example of a game that also has leaver penalty even for a freaking ARAM game and there are plenty people still playing so sorry, both your points are kind of invalid. Also, software can detect whether it was properly shut down or if it crashed.
Well even if the low level guy won't make it, its just fair and the right thing to do to wait until you can't be saved anymore. A failure on his end is not a 100% garuantee so...

Interesting, how everyone, who comes with the "brilliant" idea of leaver penalty in casual, mentions the League of Legends, which is totally different game and doesn't mention For Honor, that also have a leavers penalty in regular matches and is also an action game, for a change... but - surprise! surprise! - have a lousy online. So maybe, just MAYBE the temporal ban as a leaver penalty in action game's casual is not such a great idea after all?

You are forced to put up with random people in this game as long as youre not playing with friends. No solo mode as of now. If they prematurely quit, they destroy their teammates fun as in - do you really stand a chance against 3 players (possibly friends even) with a equivalent skill to your own? (Not even talking about the ones way beyond your own capabilites). No, you most likely dont.
So what harm does it actually do to wait and see whats going to happen when you get downed? maybe your mates still get to pick you up somehow and you manage to pull off an amazing comeback?
Player leaves prematurely - potential fun destroyed for 2 other players - his mates. Its only fair to make the leaver at least have to wait a 5 minute timer until he can queue again, just like in LoL it would work just fine - stacking time-penalty upon leaving multiple times within a short timeframe of course.
Crashing and disconnection shouldnt be a problem here either, proper software can often tell whether it was a legit disconnection act via the menu, a real crash or disconnect due to timeout.
Also, yes, LoL is obviously a totally different game, BUT, it is also a TEAMgame and when people in your team leave before the game is over, youre at a disadvantage. That simple.

But you are not forced to play with randoms. That's the thing.

You're not? Maybe I am blind and can't seem to find the solo mode but when my friends are not online and I still want to play, I have to either not play at all or am forced to put up with randoms by design.
Yes, Apex Discord for example is a solution to this entire "putting up with randoms" thing, sort of, but when leaving that out of the equation, just from a game design perspective, it boggles my mind that people can prematurely leave just like that in a teamgame without any repercussions.

Short answer: no. Never. No.
Non-ranked games feature such a wide array of skill levels and intelligence levels that you have to have the nuclear option available. For instance, recently as jump master both of my squamates solo jumped in different directions. So what are my options now? Go hunt one of them down so we are a duo, or continue on solo? Instead, I just quit out and queued again. I'm not as good as FallenAngel777 above who can solo the whole map and win.
It's the same with teammates who are complete numbskulls. Sometimes it's not in my interest - as a person playing for this elusive feeling called "fun" - to go rescue or save a teammate who has been a complete buffoon or poltroon the whole match. Examples too numerous to list.
