Matchmaking has come to be one of the biggest issues for myself facing lowbie players taking over the Legends I play best with, or the next I'm best with. It's all well and good to say "Just learn all Legends" but quite frankly I'm sure a lot of us would prefer to play the character we best perform in game with right? It's also hard with players who just tarnish the name "team" after choosing your best character.
Matchmaking is just plain bad in this game, for example let's say I choose "Bangalore" in the Lobby and then get partied up with two other people who happen to main Bangalore as well, and have it chosen from the Lobby. This makes for more chances to have toxic team play being angry at the fact someone who's taken your best performing Legend and plays badly with it in comparison. 9 times outta 10 you'll have people play purposely bad because their main had been chosen first, or just leave party without consequence because they're upset about it.
I really think that you need to be able to lock in your character from the Lobby, and the game should put you into matches with those who have other Legends locked in from Lobby. Not 1, 2 or 3 of the same mains in one squad.

I've played maybe around 300 games, I think I've only encountered someone being toxic about their legend being taken once.
And really, it seems more about wanting to buff up banners than peak performance. Which really, there should just be universal stats.

Terrible idea, it's not difficult to be effective with three characters.

All I hear is is... "Someone picked my Yasuo."
OP = one trick pony.

What if the other player is 200% better than you with that character?
You should gather up with 2 friends if you want to play with your main 24/7.

Have to disagree slightly @xerosum @BorinquenWarrior From a purely shooting and basic movement aspect, yes, all legends are the same, but that's not the game, abilities play a large role. Speed is altered with Bangalore's passive and with Bloodhounds Ultimate, Defense can be boosted with Gibraltar, and repositioning for both offense and defense can be greatly impacted by Wraith and Pathfinder. Not to mention knowing how and when to use abilities with all legends can make a difference... So in the hands of experienced players who are very familiar with their characters they can be wielded with greater advantage. I like the idea of at least trying to match together teams who have different default legends picked, it just makes sense. At the same time, it's not realistic to think it can be done 100% of the time for various reasons. So part of it is left on players themselves to handle it without being toxic.
