CHOICES...
Thats all anyone has and all we need.
Customization helps alot... people loved the little charms, we love getting skins however we are recieveing the same thing in another color or design.
We need choices. Level choices, match type choices, characters could be types and we could just customize the appearance, (hair color, clothing, colors.. endless dlc for apparel and let players submerge themselves into the characters they love to use.
Use other games a reference:
Destiny has warlocks, and hunters and titans,
U can choose male or female and all armor is different, HOWEVER THERE ARE TELLING SIGNS OF WHICH U ARE FIGHTING.
(Why not have a male wraiths and female mirages?)
If not, how about smaller controls of custom creations... just color for skin, hair, eyes, clothing....
Call of duty: customized characters, loadouts, choice of matches
Battlefield: same! Choices after choices...
Some games have custom game modes and are friendly toward younger or less competitive audiences.

@Akihiro_Hiyoshi all we want / need are choices? Sure I'll agree partially, I'd LOVE the choice to have a solo mode permanently implemented. But what about some other things?
Like the bug being fixed where teammates banners don't show up at all / properly in the "squad" tab? I'd love to report people who verbally harass me / use racist or derogatory terms / make the game less fun just due to their general attitude. Did you know that's been around since I started one week after the game launched?
Or what about the persistent audio issues that have stuck around since before the first season? Sure they fixed a few things, but you'll still frequently get teams who sneak up on you despite the surroundings being totally quiet. It's one thing to get downed by someone outside hearing range, it's another altogether to have someone literally LAND behind you, and kill you with a Peacekeeper.
Or what about the whole Peacekeeper issue? They "nerfed" it, yet didn't actually solve any of the issues that the community brought up. You know, the whole, "Shotguns should reward shot placement, rather than buffing the projectile size so that less than stellar aim rewards you stellar results."? Remember how before the Peacekeeper got the projectile size buff, everyone was complaining about how the Charge Rifle was too oppressive? Notice how now there hasn't really been much talk about it? It's almost as if having a weapon that gives you more damage with a third of the skill required phases weapons out of use.
Or what about letting us have alternate keybindings for executing someone and opening a door? Did you know that's ALSO been something the community has requested since one week after launch?
Or what about more consistent, reliable melee? You ever just punch the air despite kissing a target? Or what about how your character won't immediately re-draw their weapon after using a consumable if you put it away before you started to heal?
You know those new changes where we all get an extended level cap up to 500, and earn Apex Packs all throughout those level ups? It took them 2 and a half seasons to implement that, something I saw posted as suggestions back before season 1 started. I saw abandonment penalty posts halfway through season one, it took them until this season to implement it, and EVEN THEN it was so poorly implemented that I've seen a lot more "banned unfairly" posts than "the penalty is working" posts.
Apex falling out of relevance has nothing to do with the lack of "choices" that players have. The only real lack of choice is the option to play solo rather than in squads. Apex falling out of relevance has everything to do with slow, inconsistent, non-transparent development, and a clear lack of interest towards listening to the community who wants to make the game better than it is. Instead they're focusing more on putting in skins and releasing more LTMs, rather than fixing what isn't working. Your ideas won't help keep Apex relevant (and they're certainly not original) and instead focus more on putting out quick money makers rather than creating a quality experience for everyone. They're not necessary, nor would they ever be helpful. In depth customization in a class based shooter does nothing but obscure information for both sides. Imagine Overwatch with in-depth customization, now you can change Tracer to be a 6 foot tall hulking metal giant with all the same abilities, and neither your team nor theirs knows what character you're playing. "But what about Team Fortress 2?" Oh yes, except the only real customization is hats. All the characters retain the same body shape, weapons, movement, and audio regardless of what customization you put on them. Heavy with a hat, is the Heavy class, with a hat. You know exactly what class they're playing (aka, all the important info). If you switch Wraith from a female to a male, now your enemies have to do guess work on what character you're playing. Sounds good to you! Except everyone can customize their character, and now everyone is doing guess work on everyone.
Apex created waves when it first came out due to the ping system, unique movement, and color blindness accessibility options. For the first few months, Apex thrived on the fast paced combat fueled by how they handled movement. It set itself apart from other BR games using those three things as core strengths, and now, 3 seasons later, has tapered off drastically due to slow development, inconsistent updates, poor management, and (once again) the lack of interest towards listening to the community. Adding in more cosmetics won't help Apex be relevant. Ripping off ideas from other games won't keep Apex relevant.

I really like the custom character design idea. Let the players become the artist and the devs could supply colors, graphic art, and design patterns (Kinda similar to Sims 3 if anyone’s ever played that). That would add a lot of personalization options to make the Legends feel more yours. It would also add more things players would want to buy in the shop, so that would also be good for respawn.

@Overkill_ReaperI like more customizations but not really hair color Gender and that type defeats the purpose for skins but i do think there could be cosmetics for portals, wraiths phase, gibralters shield/ dome, paths grapple line, lifeline/crypto/rosies drones, wattson/caustics traps maybe wattsons pylons, bangalores smoke, mirages decoys could explode into confetti or something when shot, etc more skydiving trails would be nice too, just cosmetics that arnt character skin features but will still add more things to show off in game
(Rosie is a future legend with a drone that can loot items for us) I believe its Season 5 or late Season 4 depends if renevant is late season 3 or early season 4

Customization of the Legends appearance must never go so far that you instantly wont recognize exactly what Legend you spot.
