Hey guys,
So I've had issues on and off with lag and rubber-banding in general on Apex. I have always had a wireless connection and live downstairs, so I "knew" that was the issue.
Fast forward until last night where I hardwired my xbox, fired up Apex and was pleased to see a steady 38-39 Ping (When it lags bad its usually 100+)
I get into a game and I instantly feel the character stuttering all over the place. I would pick up items and they would appear back on the ground as if I didn't pick them up. My character felt smooth for the most part but the gameplay was delayed. The first fight I got into everything skipped like CRAZY. It drove me insane.
I then disconnected and went back to wireless. It made it a little bit better, but still had issues. I turned the game off due to frustration.
My question is, WTH do I do? I did an internet speed test and IIRC it was 100mbps Download and 4.5mbps Upload speeds, which my Xbox Live friends told me was fine.
I really thought hardwiring my system would make me fall in love with the game again. It just makes me angry that It isn't so smooth.

I am hardwired directly to the back of the router. I even drilled a hole in my floor! Lol.
Also, the Ping didn't go down. The first time I fired it up it, ping was around higher 30's which isnt bad. But on a good day when my wireless was spot on I would have 28-30 Ping and it would run smooth as can be.....For a game or two. Then it would sputter and act up unfortunately.
I switched to hardwire because I thought A) I would get more consistent Ping readings. B) I would get LOWER ping. C) I would be unnaffected by others using WIFI in my household.

That is a lot of information and I thank you. I guess I need to look into this a little bit because I have no idea what any of that means
I personally don't own a computer but could borrow a laptop from somebody in the house. But then if I borrowed someones computer I'm not sure I'd be able to do what you listed LMAO.
FWIW when I play apex, sometimes I will start on 30 ping, play a few games and then I will notice it become bad. I will restart the game, get back in the home screen and all of the sudden ping is 100+ (its spiked to 1000+ before) but either way it doesn't matter what the number is because I felt it change and it's terrible no matter the number.

Guys! I found my problem.
I was going to do a hard test on my modem/router tonight and I did, but in the process saw my Ethernet cable was in port 4 instead of port 1. I changed that around and now I have a rock solid 21/22 Ping!! This is incredible
