- My very first Solo match I bumped into players teaming up with each other.
- Dealt with more campers than usual.
Other than that, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. The matches go by pretty quick time-wise, but it still feels boring.

In my opinion, solo game mode is BY FAR the best thing that has ever happened to this game.
3 months ago i quit because i couldn't have fun. The reason for that is that i can never really fight with someone 1v1. I always hesitate when i see an enemy, afraiding that his teammates will shoot me if i start a fight with him. I know i have my own teammates too but that doesn't mean everyone is going against each other. Generally the first one to shoot (usually me) gets all of the enemy team's aggro and has to fight 3v1 for god knows how many seconds before my teammates start to help me. Sometimes they don't even be close to the fight so you just either have to wait, hide or escape (as much as you can) until they arrive, or try your best to fight against 3 players. And i just hate that. I hate that i can't fight with someone alone, without anyone interfering. Yes, i don't have to start a fight knowing my teammates are far away from me, but that's not always the case, an enemy team can also see you and start shooting at you.
But now, i don't hesitate when i see someone and i always start a fight with them. It couldn't be more fun for me honestly. The game has won me back and i'm planning to play until the solo game mode ends. I hope god they decide to keep it for good. That would be amazing.
You might say: "But won't other players try to kill you while you're having a fight, even though it's not their teammate?"
Yes, of course they will, but the important part is, they don't do that because they're trying to protect their teammate. They just want to kill everyone against them. And if the player i'm fighting with dies, they won't care. So the cause of the action is not to protect, but to kill. It's definitely not as annoying as in squads.
(+) Likes:
More 1v1s
No enemy teammates that you have to fight after knocking down the first one.
No enemy teammates that shoots you while you're having a 1v1.
More opportunity to improve your gameplay. (Aim, gamestyle, critical decisions, positioning etc.)
Easier to spot your mistakes to eventually, learn from them.
More fast paced than squads.
Circle closes faster, thus no 45 minutes of gameplay without fighting then dying tragicly.
(-) Dislikes:
Annoying players who just camp. But not so bad because again, circle closes quicker.
Kill steals but i don't personally really care as long as i survive the fight.
And to be honest, i don't really think i dislike anything about solos, i was just trying to be objective.

About camping: it does not need to be discouraged. Camping is fine the way it is. People love to make it sound like you can just sit in a corner and win, but that's not at all the case. The circles close quite fast, so the only way you can really camp for a while is if you already know where it's going to end and get there early, but even then you need to make sure that you get enough loot to actually stand a chance, which usually isn't easy because there are almost always people dropping into the circle right away.

@nooblet123Right on...camping is a valid strategy/play style too with its own pros/*.
I didn't mean to give the impression that it should be discouraged per se, agree with ya that it shouldn't be (really play style is just personal preference).
If the majority of players camped in solo matches most of the time, then solos would become dull and boring for most players (that would be my guess anyways). I think the fast pace of Apex is what draws and hooks many gamers...it did me.
So little tweaks to help keep the aggressive play style viable in solos, as a counterbalance to camping, would be a good thing IMO.
Hopefully that makes sense

It actually wouldn't. If everyone camped, then the circle would constantly be forcing people into fights and there would be action throughout the whole round. What causes boring moments is that 40 out of 60 players drop in the same general area and all kill each other in the first 3 minutes. Then there's a long period afterwards where there are relatively few players alive over still a large area.

Solos actually brought me back too. I got so sick of the matchups in random squads that I deinstalled, and tbh I planned to stay away permanently unless something changed in the matchmaking. I reinstalled because of solos, and have enjoyed the game more in the past 2 days playing solos than I have the rest of Season 2 combined.
