Hello Respawn,
First of all, your recent marketing strategy is what is keeping me from investing money right now. Nobody cares about the story of your characters. They look funky and different and that is ok. Now I have read that 25% of the characters are part of the LGBTQ community and that is just ridiculous. If this is just a marketing stunt to get the LGBTQ community to tweet about the game and receive good press from video game journalists, I can live with it but you know it is just wrong to take advantage of a group right? If, on the other hand, it is not a marketing stunt and you start to create character stories and rub their sexual preferences under my nose I am not willing to spend my money. Gender debate should not be a part of the game. NO gamer cares about it. The gameplay does not change. You really have to understand that you are selling a game and not a political product. If you continue on such a path it will have bitter consequences. Gamers are sick of it. I am sick of it.
This aside I really like your game. It is hands down the best battle royale game I have played. I played about 30 hours and I thought about investing money. On the one hand, because I wanted to play the other two characters and on the other to show my support. You did an outstanding job with APEX Legends and it being F2P is just smart. Here comes my second problem, your shop.
Let us start with the Founder's Edition for 29,99€:
-2000 Apex Coins
-Exclusive Legendary The Notorious One Hemlok Weapon Skin
-3 Exclusive Roughneck Character Skins (1 each for Wraith, Bloodhound, and Gibraltar)
-3 Exclusive Banner Frames (1 each for Wraith, Bloodhound, and Gibraltar)
-1 Exclusive Founder’s Badge
The character skins -epic quality - you get are pretty dull and add little value, the weapon skin - legendary quality - BUT very unique and you either hate it or love it. The rest of the cosmetics are also not very pleasing to the eye in my opinion, therefore, add little value. 2000 Apex coins are also available for 20,00€ and you would get 150 Bonus Coins. In a nutshell, you pay roughly 10,00€ for mediocre cosmetics at best.
The other option is the Starter Pack for 4,99€:
-600 Apex Coins
-Exclusive Animated Blue Fade RE45 Weapon Skin
-Exclusive Feeding Frenzy Badge
With this pack, you get a good deal on the coins and one decent skin, but you are 150 Apex Coins short to buy a new Legend.
My conclusion for your Packs: Neither is something to get excited about. I hope you will rethink your strategy and here is a proposal I would like.
A pack you can create yourself: Choose 1 Character, 1000 Apex coins + 100 crafting materials for 16,00€.
As the game is all about having your favourite legends and secondly cosmetics, it would be great if you had the option to create more individual packs.
I hope you have a nice weekend.
So long,
Ocelot

I am happy we agree on one thing but I am not the one who brought the topic to the table:

As I stated in my post that I absolutely do not care about the characters and their preferences whatsoever. That is my whole point. Why bring the debate into the game in the first place. I even feel like Respawn is taking advantage of said community for marketing purposes. As I said, if this is the case I do not think it is the right thing to do. Do you understand?
