My final game of the evening epitomized why Apex is such a great game.
Nobody in my squad was particularly a great player, myself included, but we had grit!
All 3 of us got killed and respawned at some point. I respawned them 3 times, so 1 of my squaddies I respawned once and the other one twice. On the first respawn, I used the beacon by Market and got ganked while my two squadmates dropped in. Somehow they escaped and came back and got my banner.
I was respawned between Skull Town and Water Treatment. 1 of our squad was dead in Skull Town so I went inside the ring and got their banner. Because it was already round 4 or whatever, I had to burn through 8 syringes to escape the ring. That's why I don't want the ring damage increased. It should be difficult but not impossible to zip in and out of it.
We retreated to Water Treatment and had another engagement, one of us getting boxed. Then it was down to 3 final squads. We had a 3-way fight until until it was 2 of us alive vs. 2 opponents. Like an idiot I went and grabbed my teammate's banner from the ring and it drained like 4/5 of my health since it was already Round 6. I wanted to get their banner before it timed out even though there were no more beacons, because I thought this way they would get credit for the win (am I right? Do dead squaddies get credit for the win if they time out?).
So now me and my Wraith partner are on the ground floor of Water Treatment, both of us with purple armor and about 1 syringe's worth of health on the meter. My Wraith partner edged close to the ring and managed to grab a pile of syringes, so we filled up and then the ring moved. I ended up getting the final kill and we won, with the final ring about 6 feet wide. It was exhilarating. Up until we got to Water Treatment we had level 1 armor and junk weapons because we were never able to go back and get our boxes.
A ragtag team of misfits who couldn't shoot straight against impossible odds! But through teamwork and brilliance, we won. It was so rad!

Thanks for sharing a great story to cap off Season 02! Sounded very much like a game of cat and mouse where you were scrambling for survival the entire time. There are a lot of times it can feel more intense dodging rounds from other players while on the run rather than getting into crazy gunfights.
Good luck in Season 03 to you group of misfits!
