The new Gibraltar & Caustic fortification buff is a step in the right direction. However I still feel that these chunky guys are still fairly easy targets, even Gib with his new shield buff too.
I think Fortification, as well as giving 10% damage reduction should negate the movement speed debuff when the characters get shot at, this would allow the two characters to actually feel like bullet sponges and feel overall more tanky and versatile.
Any additional thoughts are welcome!

honestly i do not have the stats and i am talking purely from a caustic point of view but he feels very balanced right now, dare i say even threatening at times, his gas is actually pretty strong now however i cant speak for gibraltar but i dont think caustic needs anything extra
that said if statistically they are both still weak then they do need help but i am only talking from my perspective

honestly i do think with gibraltar his shield buff was not enough, sure it helps but its still not enough to make up for his size, but either way they are both much closer and i am happy with how they are changing both legends
again i cant judge too much with gibraltar as i dont use him often, i heavily use caustic but not gibraltar

The overall problem is, that Apex is a squad-based game, but every Legend that requires team cooperation and not 100% autonomous is perceived as a weak character to play.
The Gibby and Caustic balance is kinda a rocket science. You cannot just buff them again and again till they get fully equal to the smaller opponents in the open spaces. Even now Caustic slowly begins to become OP in close quarters (especially, right after the landing). He can turn any building into his very own chemical fortress of doom, and the hitbox size is less of an issue on the small distances.
So I don't think that defense characters will ever become fully adequate in the long range shootings without becoming overpowered in the close combat and the beginning phase.

10% damage reduction isn't enough. Do the maths yourself but, when SOLELY talking against full hp (200) purple/golden shield wearing Gib or caustic (any time one of these conditions aren't met, the 10% damage reduction does ABSOLUTELY NO difference in terms of TTK), you will see:
So yeah, the ONLY time the TTK significantly changes is for low RoF weapons aka longbow and triple take. That is all. Those are the 2 only weapons where the 10% damage reduction of Caustic and Gib CAN make a difference (but it happens far from always though as caustic and gib encountered aren't always full hp/shield while wearing a purple or golden shield).

As much as i agree a buff was necessary for the tanks in this game.
This is what i think of the 10% damage reduction:
- It lacks complete imagination.
- it took WAY to long to realize.
- they messed up so when you shoot them you can't see they have a shield anymore.
Sorry after 6 weeks of waiting i expected a lot more then just take 10% less damage and a bug that comes with it.
Personally at the very least i would have preferred 10% more Hp and shield on them.
Then at least they have to heal the ''reduced'' damage they took.
But just increasing the health pool ( That includes reduced damage taken. ) isn't going to make these legends any more viable or fun to play.
Caustic for example:
They just upped the damage of the gas.
They made him take less damage from everything.

Complete lack of imagination and good game design.
-Since they push this game in a direction of squads and team play they should have made caustic a better team player.
Just make sure teammates don't get slowed down in friendly gas would have made caustic a lot better and annoying legend and push this game more towards good team play.
and abuse digital treats and bloodhound game play.
-Make caustic and teammates heal slowly in his gas or something.
Fun abilities that make the hero worth picking even with a bigger hit-box.
Dare to think out of the box.
