This is a really old bug, but is really annoying.
If i have enable notifications, and someone invites me
And i don't press N to reject the invitation, automatically obliges me to quit the game i currently playing and join their party.
This is season 1 OLD, and i can't have notifications enabled only because of that.
Is really impressive that isn't fixed yet.

It kept happening to me one day so i had to restart Origin. It was so bad the notification wouldnt even pop up, only the sound and it would send me straight into the new lobby

Yup, I long ago disabled Origin overlay notifications because I was sick of being pulled out of matches by invites from people on my friends list.
It's such a blatantly obvious bug, it's quite puzzling why it's not been addressed.
I can only imagine because the issue involves the interface between Respawn's code (the game), and EA's code (the Origin overlay), the resultant bureaucracy has caused the ball to be knocked back & forth between two separate dev teams ad infinitum.
I'm not sure Respawn fully realise how much damage this is doing to the growth & stability of their player base.
I've personally not friended a single random that I've encountered in-game, precisely because I've disabled invites.
If you watch every streamer, you'll see the exact same.
I'm sure Respawn or EA can pull up some metrics on how the use of this feature has degraded over time, and when compared to other games, how under utilised it is.
This should've been classified as a grade A critical issue, and as such should've been fixed promptly back when it was first noticed (launch week!)
Someone needs to pull their finger out of their *, take sole responsibility for the issue, and GET IT FIXED.
