Good luck actually getting a game if you do this though.

Although the option to disable crossplay is in the menu, I do not think it does anything.
I have had it turned off for a couple days now, and I am CLEARLY still being matched with console players. I can tell because their mic's are always active, as well, some of them send me a friend request which identify them as being on a console. I think the option in the menu either does nothing and just "hides" the icons, or it sets a preference but still forces crossplay if not enough games exist, or I think the disable function does not work.

@CompleatBeet
"- ALL platforms should play together in cross play lobbies"
I would 100% quit playing Apex Legends altogether if they made crossplay forced with PC, Why? I dislike the PC cheater community. I played Apex Legends for over a year, Some say it's not a big thing, their very VERY VERY VERY WRONG. I also tried to play Battlefield on PC, what a joke.
I was spending more of my time watching and recording people just to see the same cheater weeks later. Most of the cheaters I would report would be new accounts 200 kills or less, but I would see them with 4000 kills at a later date, F that.
So, no PC is not a platform, it's a plague. When you can expect 1 cheater in rooms of just 60 players, You have an issue with your community. All of that was just public, I can't even think the amount of ninja cheaters in ranked that just look through walls and shoots someone at the end to get a free win and/ or the amount of players using scripts for recoil, just no. PC should be invite ONLY.
I'm not here to do someones job for them and report every cheater I see, I'm here to game.

The connectivity has always been bad, cross play didn't change that for me.
What it DID change was I was already abandoning about 3 games out of every 5. Apex is terrible for giving you incentive to stick around in a game, and even rewards you if you leave, so there's nearly no reason to stick around once you go down. Add to that stupid team decisions, and play, and all that stuff.
But, as of crossplay, I ditch a solid 80% of my games early now. I've given up keeping my ration of top 5 games. Now I just keep in mind winning at least 1 out of every 20 games and I'm ahead of that.
However, before Cross play, it'd be 12 games abandoned early, 8 good enough games and 1 of which I'd usually win with my team.
Now? Abandon 16 games early, play 4 of which 1 I win.
So, that's something that's only gotten worse with crossplay, and the numbers were pathetic already.

@IAmTheMeddler You're only at a disadvantage if you put yourself in that position (Low refresh rate monitor/TV, higher ping due to living conditions, bad mouse &KB/controller, etc). Controllers have the advantage of aim assist which helps from short-mid range battles, falls off at long range. Pro controllers can help with their precision as well by swapping out extended sticks, they also have shorter button travel time to register their inputs. KB&M excels at precision, so they'll naturally win most times at long range battles and the user performance at short-mid range varies from person to person. I play Apex with a controller and KB&M. I came from Xbox with this being my most played game. I do think the aim assist is way too strong on console and better on PC, much more manageable. But they both have its pitfalls. Moving on....
I've played a few games with cross platform and they all allow consoles to swap to KB&M. If you truly believe that you're at a disadvantage using a controller then you should just use a KB&M. It's as simple as that, that's what I did on Xbox with Warzone. But this thought process is mostly psychological, every player is different and each can excel amazingly in their preferred play style. The only concern of cross-platform are PC hackers but that's an outlier.
The PC really needs the cross-platform, it's dead in comparison to console. The que times for duos and events can take hours, trios can reach long que times too at certain hours. Steam might bolster its playerbase but that's a band-aid fix. PC NEEDS proper cross-platform. I get instant ques in all game modes on console. If they do enable cross-platform with PC then they should give the console players a choice to opt into that play space, as well as enabling the option to use KB&M on console, COD allows this.
I swear, every single game that comes to this choice, people overreact before even trying it out themselves.

You all know that you can opt out of cross play, right? And how cheating in this game is MAJORLY exaggerated?
