So EA has been cracking down on cheaters, which is great, round of applause to the success I've personally witnessed. But now there seems to be a new and upcoming monster: salty disconnects robbing players of finishers for challenges, and what I can only assume to be lag switches. And if there aren't lag switches involved, man, are these "random server disconnects" horrendous. The salty disconnects are an easy fix, add an X second disconnect delay (X being the time of the longest finisher +1 or 2 seconds (I mean, come on, that's a gimme. If someone has to run for a legit reason, a timer isn't going to stop them)) or even have the avatar persist without the player behind it after the salty disconnect. Now here is my biggest personal gripe: multiple times now have I had a fellow player/squad dead to rights, only to have the game lag for a solid 5 seconds, give me the "desync chain", then the "connection speed speedometer", and then finally a server disconnect error. Or even when the "lag spike" doesn't end in a disconnect, it ends in my death, when I "just so happen" to be about to come out on top of a battle. Being robbed of points, kills (some of which were game winning), and challenges, is really grinding my gears. I love the game and all the concepts or concept mashups it has brought to the table, but slowly am I starting to look elsewhere for reliable entertainment....
