Hello EA,
I hope you are going to see and read this post!
I play Apex Legends as a Random player, and when playing like this I have noticed one particular game-play pattern that seems pretty common among most players, that is grab some loot, you start to see someone and begin fighting when the other team mates are not ready.
I have almost 500 hours in this game, I know how to play it very well and I've even won once solo, if I might toot my own horn! LOL...
Anyhow...
I know that the game can mean many things to many players at different times, some just want to fight, some might want to just always survive to the end, etc...
But we all should know that the name of this game is about surviving to make it to the end to win, which it doesn't mean to fight everyone you see, especially when you are not ready!
I know for a fact with my almost 500 hours of game play that the majority of players just start fighting when they are not ready and die, because they have a limited amount of weapons, ammo, loot, etc, especially taking on people while still in White Armor is not always the best thing to do, when you can run and fight later, but many don't they just fight.
Yes I'll admit, when it's a hot drop and there are many people around, which I know most will be in White too, I do like to fight, but later on, I want to loot around for better weapons and armor to get ready, and I don't see that happening with many people, they just continue fighting with limited loot and white armor, as if the "Concept" of running and living isn't in their mindset!
SO, I am asking EA to PLEASE implement some more PING replies for when teammates are not ready we can say these things as an example:
1. I'm not ready to fight!
2. Don't fight yet, I need more loot!
3. Fighting now in White is not a good idea!
So I hope you get the idea?
Yes, we already have the "I'm Looting Here" I think is how it's spoken, but trust me EA people don't pay attention to it!
The reason I see the need for this, is when I see teammates already fighting they assume to often we should all be fighting and many times this isn't possible, and we really need this!
Let me make one thing clear here, this is not about fighting to get better as many might think and respond to this, it's about playing smart when you already know how to play the game and fight like I do, this is not about getting better, this is about being good already and now as a skilled player you are simply trying to communicate with your team that you are not ready, or that you don't think that at this time it's good to engage, you can communicate that with them, and we don't really have that in the PING SYSTEM!
Thank you EA for your time and consideration, I hope we will see something like this in the future added to the game.

Hi @xpl0its
Nice post and good points you raise with some humour thrown in!
I guess you can look at Apex two ways. You're either a combat when you're not looting player or a looting when you're not in combat player. What I mean by that is, that you are might have more emphasis on either looting or combat. I've seen a lot of players who will go to the edges of the map and avoid other players until they are confident on their own gear and then engage in combat. Then there are those who will get the bare minimum of items such as 2 guns and body armour and then got straight into combat to loot defeated players.
These two outlooks clash. But, in a way, they are like forces within a team pulling the team into a compromise. If you don't make a compromise then the team will break down somewhat. Which in another way is also fine. It's only the outcome of the match for the whole team that really matters, and there are any number of theories in any given match how that might be best achieved. I've won some matches solo against all odds after my teammates rage quit but I've also been in teams that steamrolled there way to victory. Which proves there are a multitude of ways of winning in any given situation.
But if you're looking for teammates check out the Find a Squad forum which is very active. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Find-a-Squad/ct-p/apex-legends-squad-en

@xpl0its You wanna know what would really help?
If the training mode had forced players to use the "attacking here" ping just so they know it exists.
But yeah, with aggressive (combat speaking) randoms, you have to stop what you're doing and fight with them whether you're ready or not if you decide to tell them you're not
ready and they ignore.
Because the truth is if one of your teammates decided to push without you, and you tell them to stop and they keep going, they'll die and leave.
Randoms are Randoms, and there's not much you can do about it.
So to conclude, with randoms you have two choices when they push without anyone else's consent:
1. Push with them and risk your whole team dying.
2. Stay behind and let them die and leave.
See, if someone pinged "attacking here", then you can use the "NO" reply ping.
Hope you find some people to play with
GG and great gaming
(randoms are still people, be nice)

@warslag@WitherpizzaI get what both of you are saying.
I should of mentioned this as well, I know for a fact with my experience, and I'm not trying to be a fat head here, know it all LOL, but I've seen the fighting going on that I have witnessed, I know that my teammates are going to die, most of them, because they are not prepared and they think they are, bottom line, they are less skilled players, or they think they are good, and maybe they are even good, but even good players can die, etc...
Said another way, I use to play on Clans and I ran my own clan in the past, now I just play on my own for the past 4 months.
In 4 months I do honestly play around 5-7 hours a day 7 days a week, hopefully people will realize that is a lot of game play, and in that amount of time I have seen that it is true that the majority of players are simply not prepared, that's all this is really about, ill prepared unskilled players, or those that think they are great, and maybe they are good, but everyone can have a bad moment.
Yes even with these PINGS added in, it doesn't mean our teammates will necessarily listen, but at least we can better communicate to each other when we are not voice chatting or texting, so I really hope EA adds this in...

@xpl0its
Get your point but I honestly dont think these pings will matter much in practise since it more comes down to different attitudes/ideas how to play this game rather a lack of communication possibilities.
What Im trying to say is that many players, including me, just wanna fight and frag ESPECIALLY when playing with randoms. As long as I got a weapon better than Mozambique and P2020 + white armor, I feel ready to go. I dont think many players in the random queue will think "oh that guy dont wanna fight until he got a purple armor; I will respect that and avoid all fights" =)
You might say that people like me are quite egoistic when playing with randoms, and I guess you would have a point. But this is a direct consequence of how Respawn designed this game. I have over 700 wins so winning in normal means literally nothing to me. I just wanna have fun, frag, get better and get that 20kills and 4k dmg banner =)
I think that finding some gaming friends with similar ideas how to play the game is a much better solution.

Yes your points are very valid, and I was making reference to the fact that people play for many reasons.
But do remember this, sometimes in life if you don't really SPELL it out for people they just don't get it.
So yes true, having the extra pings might not always help, but, when you just tell people you are looting, that doesn't really SPELL it out as to what your intentions are.
So having the PINGS to SPELL it out better to people our intentions will at some level help, because if we don't, then people typically assume the worst, like, why the heck are you looting when we should be fighting mentality....
