Confessions of an abusive Legend time. I’ll be honest, I can be quite toxic when playing this game because it is so insanely team based. If you have one weak link, it can bring your whole squad down in a matter of seconds. That being said, the reason I have transitioned from a starry-eyed little nooblet into a raging * is because the overall toxicity of this game just seeps into your being after awhile. It takes conscious effort to keep it out, and I don’t always win that battle. However, I have recently been combating this decay with open mic and the intent of just COMMUNICATING, nothing else. No talking smack, no asking everyone how their day was, just pure strat and nothing else. I’ve had better success personally and less stress because it keeps the squad focused on the game rather than trying to argue with my screaming *. You live and die by your squad. I might be “good”, but I’m not ”slaughter all 59 other players in the goddamn lobby by myself” good. Far from it. I mess up and get killed sometimes, everybody bleeds in here, who cares about your damage bro. That is my recent perspective that keeps me grounded and not fouling the mic with my sailor’s mouth... though I do sigh deeply from time to time still. That’s Progress with a capital P for me. To summarize, I agree this game can be toxic AF, but the true legends are those who can rise above that toxicity and lead their squad to victory regardless. That’s just modern gaming in a nutshell- I don’t believe Apex is any worse than other games I’ve traversed. (LOL, HOTS, DOTA 2, OW, FN, SC, blah blah lists, who cares lol) I am sorry that whoever was giving you the tour treated you so harshly though, that * sucks. I don’t blame noobs for anything when I get paired with em anymore, they know not what they do. It’s the players with thousands of kills who think they can kill everybody alone and talk all the * while not even playing their character that really * me off nowadays. Because most of the time THEY DIE without backing any of it up lololol. 😂 That was me a month ago. I don’t win every time, I don’t know why I would ever expect to, but goddamn it feels good taking two other “trash” (* that abusive term) players to the winner’s circle by never giving up on them and offering a helping hand. Wish more “good” players could take a step back and realize that. Bummer it took me this long to do so, the rage almost killed the game for me with all the noobies here in season 7. Doing loads better without it. Now I’m gonna go see if I can find an R-99 and dump a whole clip into someone’s face without missing a shot, not caring how many shots my teamie is missing next to me. It’s a * game and being angry won’t get you a dub. 😁

Its certainly more toxic than any other fps games out there simply due to the nature of the game - its a battle royale. You must kill everyone to win. Then goes the RNG factor which is insane in these games.

It’s ridiculously toxic, but sadly there are many more games with far more toxic fan bases, LoL perhaps the worst, even a game like Rocket league. Gaming is toxic in general, most casual gamers and my friends play games that don’t involve a community, which is largely the ironic thing, it’s team based games that have the most toxic players, and most serious gamers in my experience lack social skills. Some people need to be good at games to elevate their self worth, because they don’t really find it anywhere else in life.

It's actually Year 2 & Season 8.
Your question should be more like are there bad people in Life? We all know that answer, so of course any game has Toxic Rude players.
Welcome To Gaming, forget about it and move on and have fun!
Because in Life there are good people and bad, and you'll find a lot of great people to play with!
