Maybe damage should be worth some points. Like 500 damage being a point because sometimes kills are indeed stolen sometimes or you are sniping but not landing the killing or knockdown shots. Games of players getting 1000-5000 damage would actually mean something at least.
Example:
Damage would also end up paying cost to enter higher tier ELOs too along the way. Anything helps at least.

They should just take total kill RP and divide it equally between squadmates. Damage is too easy to farm.

Apportion the RP according to damage.
i.e.
totalRP = Min(teamKills,15)
personalRP = Min(totalRP * personalDamage / totalDamage, 5)

Yes, the ranking system is flawed. Top finishes and wins are weighted more heavily then helping your teammates. They definitely should give more RP for kills, knockdowns, and maybe some RP for damage done, revives, respawns, etc. Players are electing not to revive their teammates if it's too risky. Because surviving to get that top 5 or top 3 finish is worth more than fighting to revive your teammate. I've been abandoned too many times by teammates because of this. I'm even beginning to notice that temptation in my own play...leave teammates behind so you won't lose out on that RP.

I feel the best way to attack this next season is by simply playing a few matches in Ranked and than being placed inside a Rank after x amount of matches based on how you did with surviving, kills, ect.
Ya know, like Rainbow. You play 10 ranked matches and than get places in a rank, to which you can move around from.
