Picture this. There are 5 squads left. The circle is tiny. You're fighting a squad. You notice that your two teammates are crouched and hiding in corners of a building. You get downed immediately because 1v3's can be difficult. You beg for them to come help you. They don't move. The other team finishes you. You watch helplessly as they take all of your loot, all the while screaming at your teammates that they're easy targets now because they're looting. They still don't move. The team leaves and now it's super easy for you teammates to run the 20 yards to come get your tag. They still don't move. The other teams fight. 4 squads left.... 3 squads left. You're teammates finally move. Your timer has timed out. It's game over for you..... ALL BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CHALLENGE TO PLACE IN THE TOP 3.
Picture a different scenario. You and your teammates in the dropship at the beginning of the game. You ping an area on the map for the jumpmaster. He says, "Okay". He relinquishes jumpmaster position to you. He drops solo to an area behind you. ALL because he needs to get a certain amount of kills in a certain area. You and your teammate now have the choice to backtrack and follow your teammate, get leftover loot, or drop to the original plan. Either way, you're now at a huge disadvantage.
THESE CHALLENGES RUIN NORMAL GAMEPLAY. FIX. THEM.

Hello @arbor597
I've never had these experiences with challenges in the game after they removed the location specific ones out of the daily challenges. Let's discuss your cases.
1. It seems you were unlucky with your teammates. I dislike your shooting against them, even though they didn't communicate well with you that is no reason to be harsh yourself. Also the main point about a battle royal is to survive until the end. Getting kills is nice but not the main goal. So them being carefull and trying to survive would possible not directly be linked to having a challenge. Did they tell you they got that challenge or were they doing there best to win the game? If you feel like random players don't have the same gamestyle as you, try to meet up with other players instead. I always meet people on Discord and play some fun matches with premade teams.
2. In ranked, I've never seen a player going solo just to land somewhere on his own. I estimate 95% of the time my team sticks together by the drop to have a higher chance to beat other teams at the ground. Partying up with other players that communicate also solves this problem.
What would you suggest to include as challenges if the devs decide to change them up?

I wish we could pick our daily/weekly challenges from a list.
Also I've done this before and I just told my team that I needed top 3 and to stay with me, we ended up getting 2nd
It's not as bad when people stick together tho

Not sure what you mean when you say you "dislike me shooting against them"? I didn't do anything to my teammates. They abandoned me and I died. I suggest reading the post more clearly before you call me "harsh". And yes, the main goal is to be the ultimate champion and survive the longest, but the point of the game is also NOT to "camp". If you're promoting that, then you're wrong. You obviously have better luck than I do with your "ranked" teammates. It happens to me all the time. I have my own squad with my own buddies. We're all "Platinum", but whenever I get on by myself I end up getting horrible teammates BECAUSE of the challenges. There's no question about it.
I suggest getting rid of challenges completely. I ranked up to level 110 Battlepass in Season 1 from just getting Exp. from actually playing the game how it's meant to be played. As a team, getting kills, and surviving to the end. That's how it should be. These challenges promote a "different" game and I know others disagree, but I happen to like the original way.

Hello @arbor597. Let me elaborate myself.
I misspelled "shouting" into "shooting" in that sentence, my bad. My comment was made after reading your post, which literally states:
"...all the while screaming at your teammates..."
So to say "I didn't do anything to my teammates" is maybe how you experienced it, but screaming commands at teammates doesn't sound nice to me at all. Yes, random teammates can abandon you at any time and start doing their own thing, but that is always going to be the case with randoms. If you don't like to have a (rather small) probability to be teamed with those player, then I suggest to only play in the premade squad you describe.
Sometimes my teammates are beginners as well, but screaming at them for not knowing better is not going to change anything. They might just try their best, how could we know?
I thought about it again and actually agree with you that challenges as "get kills with Wattson" or "with bloodhound" might make the teammates less effective (and myself as well). The challenges induce players to try other legends and they might not be as good with those legends then their mains. But I've yet to see a teammate drop solo in Ranked just to reach a certain area or play differently to get to the final 3. In my opinion, some challenges are better than others to retain gameplay.
Getting completely rid of challenges seems unlikely, but what about getting rid of the daily challenges? That would mean players have tons of time to achieve the weekly challenges by chance and thus less influence the way they play. Do you think that would help enough?
