August 2019
I feel for both sides in this situation, as I see it comments made by some of the developers might have come off as a little unprofessional but I am understanding it is a joke towards the attacks being made. There will always be someone unhappy with something and that those attacks do not speak for the majority of the community who also enjoy Apex.
As far as the pricing structure goes I feel that it is fine because I know there is a large amount of players who bought those new skins, so if they can make the money then that is a good thing. The event gives 2/24 limited time items which may return in future events for just participating in the Iron Crown. Personally, I will not pay that much for those new packs but I am content with having 2 free packs and still feel this is generous of Respawn. I think some of the players forget how much is actually given out via battle pass rewards, I tried out Origin Access for $5 and was literally handed $10 worth of Apex currency to purchase the season 1 battle pass. Then after completing season 1, I was handed enough currency to buy the next season 2 battle pass and I have now finished season 2 and have enough currency to get season 3. Respawn's system is generous and I don't think they are getting enough credit for how much they are actually handing us. Some players need to understand these are just skins and just have a cosmetic effect on the game play and that you don't need to buy them to fully enjoy the game.
I feel the Iron Crown event has really made it fun to have goals to complete for some badges, although for solos I've noticed a lot of players syncing into games and teaming together which I find very unfortunate because it ruins that game mode for me and is a form of cheating.
