Hi
I'm red/green colorblind and have serious issues playing Apex Legends as none of the red/green colorblind options seem to change anything for me, are they bugged? The biggest problem that I've noticed so far is that I can not see the red enemy location pings on any mode, colorblind mode or not. I also have really big problems seeing a lot of the crosshairs since they're also red on the different modes. There are other things I have problems distinguishing as well like some ammo types and the difference between blue and purple on rarity, but the ping and crosshair are the two major problems that makes it incredible difficult to play at the moment, I feel pretty blind to be honest and people get mad when I run the wrong way from where they pinged that they spotted an enemy.
Ideas for solutions:
That said, this game is amazing and I hope we can get some tweaks to this at some point. Everyone who decides to add accessibility options to their games to help us deserves a hug, together we can make them better.
Thanks
Edit:
This is blowing up on Reddit with a lot of good constructive talk, hopefully the devs/support team are taking notes over there seeing as this place, while official, don't have a lot of people browsing it. https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/anrwml/colorblind_mode_needs_tweaking/

All of the iron sights and some of the scopes, use a red dot, or some other red graphic. As someone with colourblindness it is extremely difficult to see the crosshair on these weapons when ADSing. I would love the option to change the default ADS crosshair colour, or make it so the colourblind mode changes it. Right now the colourblind mode is quite useless.
Thanks.

Im minor colorblind but its still very hard to see red reticles on most close range scopes red dots up tp the variable 2x-4x. I really feel like the colorblind settings dont do anthing. In other games when I set the CB settings to dueto my reticles become a bright pink and are wayyyyy brighter and easier to see. Please fix this!!!

Hey. First of all, I know this is a difficult subject for a lot of game developers and despite effort put into it, rarely any actually nails it, however I feel that Apex legends missed it by a lot.
I'm personally a strong Deuteranopia.
Which by set "analytics" should mean that green and red is closer to grey than their actual colours. Which I can safely say isn't correct.
Yes the colours are not as vibrant but more bland and darkish.
Generally the world is in fact a darker place when you are a Deuteranopia.
And here comes the issues. with said colourblindness, it's not a matter of altering the colours slightly to adjust for it being green or red. It's a matter of contrasts and shading.
Ironicly in your options of colourblindness, the "default" setting is the more clear of them.
Default
Protanopia: Alters the purple colour to a shade of blue however with this shade of blue from my POV, there's no longer a colourdifference between epic and blue rarity.
Deuteranopia: my colourblindness, completely identical to the previous one
Tritanopia: Which is the worst of them all in terms of colour correction for me. They're all literally a different shade of grey with a hint of green.
Here's an example from ingame with a teammate pointing out to me that there was an epic knockdown shield on a body and the reason why I have come to the forums to point this out.
in the gear section of this loot menu. they are all the same shade of blue to me.
Other examples to clarify how it works.
In borderlands the loot is vizualised with light cones. the green and legendary light cone is the same shade when placed next to each other. they are not both "grey", they are just the same shade of yellow / green when lined next to each other.
in fortnite. the green and grey loot when lying on the ground gives off the same tint of green/greyish when lying next to other items of those 2 rarities.
Literally the best way to fix this is to make legendary a HARD red. epic a HARD purple, blue a BRIGHT blue and Common remains Grey. It's a matter of contrasts and shading. not the direct colour display on the screen.
Although fortnite's isn't perfect. at least pay attention to how they know about the contrast. realise that the entire screen changes it brightness depending on what colourblindness it is.

Thank you for your time and hopefully you guys at Apex legends / respawn can help make this game a happier place for people like me.

Although the percentage of people who are colourblind is low, as one who is, I would really like further support in the game that I don't think would require much work. I mainly mean the ability to change the colour of the rarity of loot as I am unable to tell the difference between blue and purple tiered loot which makes looting, a significant part of battle royals, much harder, slower and confusing when talking with teammates trying to work out which I have (am aware that when you ping it it shows the tier number).

I also have this issue. I mainly struggle when seeing what kind of damage I did. I cannot differentiate between the white damage and red damage numbers. The red color surrounding the white text is not visible. I have enabled the deuteronopia option under the colorblindness option but it didn't do anything.

I really need help with my colourblind issues in this game. Currently I have two major problems. The first is that, regardless of whichever colourblind option I choose, I can't see the red pings on either the mini map or on my screen. This makes it almost impossible to pin down enemy locations and thus act accordingly. This is detrimental to my game experience, but also impacts upon the other players on my team.
The second problem is the loot. I was struggling to parse loot upgrades during the game, not knowing whether something I could pick up was an upgrade or not. After reviewing several hours of my recorded gameplay, I realised that the upgrades etc... on the ground that could be picked up were colour coded. However, non of the colourblind modes helped me differentiate between the different tiers of upgrades.
