What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? throhjen
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. lobby
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. trying to accept or decline an invitation
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 1
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Minor impact to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? You cannot click the pop-up window to accept or decline the invitation from someone else
What should be happening instead? Accept or decline the invitation
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Invite someone after the game with origin in game off
I, like many other players prefer not using the origin in-game feature since it has plenty of flaws, but apparently it also impacts in-game features like invite or be invited by the last squad feature. You simply cannot click on the window that pops up in order to accept or decline the invitation. It doesn't appear in-game (since the thing origin in game is off) but it appears when you alt tab, in windows, and you can't click on it.

I'm using Nvidia GeForce experience in game overlay to record and take screenshots (mostly record x amount of time before the button is pressed).

That tends to work with Origin usually, at least on my setups. Can you try restarting with a Clean Boot (and you can keep the Nvidia overlay and Origin in-game active) and try accepting the invite again after your next match?

This happens to me also almost everytime. I think it only worked 2-3 times and is very annoying.
From my understanding the invitation is sent through Origin platform which is really really buggy, not intuitive and not-optimized. Why isn't the invitation sent through Apex directly?
Origin should only display a notification about received invitation but the invitation itself should be in-game. Accepting the invitation action should be in-game.
I can't find a single game that has a system like the one currently used for Apex Legends.
This is a basic/core feature which causes a lot of frustration and should be resolved ASAP.

I also have the problem and use the Nvidia overlay for the amazing instant replay feature. I'm pretty certain it's the Nvidia overlay, Origin overlay, and of course Apex Legends itself which is causing the problem. It's a three way fight for permission for rights to be escalated and appear atop all the standard/lower levels of graphical layers.j
This is something that should of been fixed a long time ago. Its been like this for two months or more now. It wasn't too big of a problem in the start. I found I was able to alt+tab and interact with the invitation toast. But this no longer works... Now that I think of it it MAY have stopped after i changed some geforce permissions that allowed the overlay to be active even on the desktop without games running.

@quizz0n It isn't that only the invitation is sent through the Origin platform, it's the entire user account and game servers are all ran through origin. So technically while it may not look like you're in "Origin" and rather as if you're in a separate entity (Apex Legends), but that's not so. EA games his big. They have a bunch of games that all use the same premise. It not only saves time and money on developing the game, since they just reuse the origin system's AAA security measures, but having to recreate the wheel would be the dagger that would send many games to grave before they were ever fully conceptualized.
So why isn't it sent through Apeex directly? because apex doesn't have any user accounts. It simply fetches the Origin accounts using them and perhaps stores some game specific info on gamers but i bet this is even all held by origin. They are practically one in the same entities.
I agree with you it should be in-game!! EA/Origin only need to look back at their failure of an interface when they made Battlefield 4 all in a web browser until you launched into the fight.
If we compare this system to steam... well steam actually does the same thing alot of the time. You'll actually receive a private message with a joinable link. But the developers who create the games on steam are not under the Steam/Valve umbrella themselves and thus implement their own system for partying etc. Which is great!
I've seen this in quite a few places with different companies over the years. Its understandable approach because it can place more financial funding in the hands of the game developers instead of into server and user information security etc etc. An enterprise level firewall can start at 20k and I bet EA/Origin doesn't have the starting level ones.
This isn't an excuse for them though! Apex game developers need to make it fully internal. Although they did launch the game with no prior publicity and it took off well beyond what they thought it would.
I think the problem actually exists more with the windows OS and how the GeForce Experience overlay isn't relinquishing its position in the overlay graphical layer. Nvidia should of had this fixed fast. shame on them but they probably point the finger at apex/origin which then point the finger back at nvidia and it won't get fixed haha.
Discord has some similar problems like not being able to use push to talk unless you run origin in administrator. its an authorization of authenticated privileges issue imo. Believe there is another where you can't use the Discord overlay with WoW if WoW was ran in administrator mode?

I know that accounts db is on Origin. It is the same for Valve/Steam but they use a straight forward logic: user receives a notification about an in-game invitation based on the platform acc db.
You don't receive a joinable link, all you get is a shortcut to play the game and after you open the game you can accept the invitation there.

*edit: I think I solved it
+1 this is happening for me too.
I would like to test further as I believe it to be a high priority issue because it affects origin in-game. ie. I can't make in-game purchases.
I run afterburner and RTSS to cap the frame rate. I think it might be RTSS? Confirmed closed RTSS and it still doesn't work (origin in-game). Now tried with RTSS and Afterburner off, doesn't work (origin in-game). Tried closing Geforce Experience, and Discord (Discord overlay was disabled anyways) AND ORIGIN IN-GAME NOW WORKS!
Now to try and figure out which it is...
Tried Discord, and origin in-game still works. AND I can still record via Shadowplay.
The culprit seems to be Geforce Experience, and closing it did not affect my ability to use shadowplay.
Now I just have to wait to test out invites being bugged and not-able-to-be-clicked
Solved? Can someone else confirm please?

I've seen the post made on reddit about what's in the works and such, but i haven't noticed this there...it's still happening, maybe a different approach on how it works? If the core mechanic of this feature is based on external sources like origin or something else, that might be the problem, too many dependencies.
