I get that it should be harder to climb in platiinum going into diamond, but when I tell you its nearly impossible solo queuing.
I just think factoring in player damage and knockdowns would be a great way to at least help those in platinum climb a tad bit easier.
I can't tell you how many games where I do most damage to players but my teammates get credit for the kills, or when I get two knockdowns and my team refuses to push.
while kills are a great way to add rank points, I don't think it should be the ONLY thing that matters

Player dmg should absolutely be a factor in your RP gain , or rather, the collective RPs that your team get from kills post match should be distributed according to dmg dealt within the team, and not according to which player just happened to get the last shot for the knockdown/kill.
Knockdowns - not so much though. Knockdowns means nothing if you cant use that fight advantage it creates by winning the entire fight etc, so it makes no sense that it should contribute to your rank climb. It would also be way to easy to farm RPs that way I think.
