Several times I've died because someone has managed to run up behind me point blank range and knock me. Or in the most recent case, an entire squad has ran up on me and by the time I realised they were there (when I was taking a tonne of damage) I had about enough time to turn around and look at them before I dropped. With third partying being a huge thing in this game, the sound of footsteps is incredibly important. Unless I see the third party, then there's nothing I can do. Players can literally sprint up behind me with a peacekeeper and I'll hear nothing. Having to turn around constantly whilst fighting another squad just ruins the experience for me, I should have reliable audio so I am able to react before it's too late.

Audio issues are there since Season 1. But nobody gives a ****.
I have Sennheisers, Hyperx Cloud II, and some cheap headphone.
Sound is terrible in apex.

@Adyx16Most situations there arn’t footsteps to be heard like yesterday I literally jumptower dropped behind a whole squad and they were clueless as ever when theres a distinct sound when someone flys by you just have to know what to listen for and people always complain about pathfinder he dosnt have footsteps really he has that clanky metal sound i always hear when a path/octane is on the roof or outside speaking of pathfinder he can grapple launch some large distances literally right behind players that are clueless in gun fights which brings me to my next reasoning sometimes people are fighting at the bottom of a hill while your fighting its incredibly easy for an enemy to jump down right behind you i do it all the time

The audio is bad in this game footsteps aren't high enough in the priority programming of the game. It's not an issue in this game alone but it is definitely the worst ive seen in apex. The game just literally will not play the footstep sound if there is even anything remotely close to you making even a tiny bit of noise. When nothing is happening the footsteps are fine. Besides that the audio is trash.

That's what I put it down to the first time it happened. Tried to tell myself I was just so engrossed in the fight i didn't hear it. But after it happening multiple times since, and happening when I'm not even in another fight, is when I realised that no, this is definetly an issue with the games footstep audio. Plus so many others have had the same issue. It's unpredictable and unreliable footstep audio.

@powerlung Yeah it's annoying cause you can only really rely on what you can see. Footsteps aren't completely non existent all the time, but even when they are there, they're so unreliable. To be honest I've been playing wraith a lot more recently xD. Just because when i get run upon I can hit Q and try to re-position and heal, I know it's easy to just follow her but it gives me more chance of surviving an ambush from some team who are apparently tip-toeing around in fluffy socks xD.
