I'm really wondering how old some of the players are...
As I've seen an example of how it should work in a class room in this feed, let me give you another - call it food for thought.
In the real world, if you are say a doctor - been performing excellent for years, got the highest degree and then people find out, you're all fake, your degree is fake, you cheated through all the exams, exploited loopholes and various other things, the state will discredit you.
You will be stripped of your license in no time and the argument of, I still did my job (like some here are saying, I only did it some time is not a good excuse.
Dashboarding might not be a crime in the real world, but in the real world, where respawn puts it's game out for us to play and enhance, it is.
Now I do agree with saying that the servers are kinda iffy and there's definitely still need for balance changes, as well as anti cheat measures.
But all that aside and as crazy as the game drove me thus far - if you're a dashboarder you don't realize that you end up hurting the game, specially ranked by doing so.
I don't know about you guys, but did you ever actually end up with a dashboarder in a ranked match? Like you could clearly tell "that guy's a dashboarder". Cause I can tell you from personal experience, 8 out of 10 times they left in the middle of a fight to save rp, cause they didn't have the skills to hack it, by far.
Now I get loss forgiveness bla bla..
No one cares, I actually wanted to do the right thing, work my way up, seeing as this is my first shooter since cs 1.6 and my first on console ever.
Now this is coming from me, the average Apex legends ps4 console player, that can't even report a damn cheater anymore, cause Sony has some issue with the reporting system.
An average player that is probably the epitome of average skill.
However, I did make it to diamond 1 briefly right before the season ended, then flunked down to diamond 4 just to see if I could make it to pred or just break my rank.
The latter happened, but let me tell you this.
If I'd constantly have had players who went through the same struggles and actually worked their way up to the higher lobbies, I'd probably have been easier.
Not to mention, less hours and less stressful.
I got excited the first couple times, teaming up with a diamond 2 or pred, cause I've heard most people don't make it past d3, so being d2 was a big deal to me.
Imagine my disappointment, playing with a dashboarder that has the skill of a piece of cardboard, just wants to camp out or even worse, takes all the loot for himself, runs off by himself, gives away our location, you name it.
My dumb a** actually thought I was getting carried for once, by an actual player that earned his rank and makes me wanna achieve the same..
What I'm saying is, this is how the world works.
Stay in your lane, stay in your lobby.
If you're a silver player all in all, that is fine.
If you're a real pred, who earned his rank by playing, taking the dubs and the losses - I envy you.
The funny thing is just, this battle Royale is a team based game, at least as far as I know..
How come no one ever stops to think about how they're hurting the game and the playerbase?
I for one, would not just renick on rewards and points, I'd ban any and all cheaters, so anyone complaining about a slap on the wrist.
Do what we all have to, work and be happy that you got the rewards honestly.
Or don't, go leave and don't play anymore.
Either way, if you think about either of those outcomes for the rest of the playerbase, respawn is well off.
Either everyone tries to get there on their own or dashboarders stop playing, shrinking the playerbase, maybe to players who just wanna try hard and get better.
Smart business solution and I applaud to that respawn.
To each their own guys, to all of you who'll keep playing ranked and try hard good luck!
The others, I'm glad you're leaving, cause I do not wanna get stuck with another dashboarder that misses more shots than me, I'm already nervous about my own gameplay

@smit117Well for me it was different I made Diamond I ranked series 1 legit, then made it in season 2 over 8-7weeks ago then i played Diamond and was hard stuck due to bad teammates bugs and glitchs (like the glitch where you dont get any RP) that bug they made a comment about it and said ti would be fixed it wasnt, then i saw a streamer when he died he would leave the match and play again so I was like well I not going to sit here with players who wont even play with me as i played solo and will willinging let you die so i left, I got to pred and stopped playing, that was weeks before any discussing that it would be punished. So i was like well ok i was already pred already done playing weeks prior nothing till January was said wow.
I am just not going to spend any money ill used the battle pass coins and thats all idc anymore since im a cheating scum that doesnt deserve anything for my wrong ways, i think ill have my own judgement day and close my wallet.
I was punished for an unwritten law, that i saw a streamer doing on stream then i found it it was a huge issue but i was like * im already pred wtf do i do now, so i kept checking my rank to see ok maybe they derank me and i have to rank over, nothing, every day i would log in and see nothing changed. Now im hyped for season 4 ready to spend a ton because i got a bonus from work and i see an email from ea and i got nothing am i guilty yes it doesnt matter why i did it as people say so i wont say why anymore. However to remove me to plat rank then now in silver where i dont belong, hump this whole thing is a mess.
Ill keep saying it players should have been punished withing the current rank season retroactive punishment is wrong people keep saying oh you should know not to do this, ok what statement from then said so when they saw it was out of control? when in January? when im pred for weeks and weeks come on lol whole thing is a big joke.

@DuybeawYour doctor scenario, irrelevant.
Maybe you PS4 gamers are just wack, but on the Xbox maybe 2% of my games were as you described. Yes people dashboarded, yes dashboarding hurts the integrity of ranked, but I’m still not putting the blame on the “cheaters”.
Ultimately Apex/Respawn refusing to fix the issue or address the issue (twitter doesn’t count) is what destroyed the integrity of ranked matches.
The only reason any of us are having this discussion is because Apex/Respawn decided to exploit this issue of theirs in order to gain money revenue and to keep players engaged in the game. Even Helen Keller could have figured that out, shocked how a lot of you can’t.
It may have worked as a smart business solution for S3....we will see if it pays off for S4, especially with the disaster of a start it’s had so far!
I have ZERO respect for how Apex/Respawn/Ea handled this situation. And to think they should have banned everyone who cheated is ridiculous 😂😂😂
Imagine banning tens to hundreds of thousands of gamers from playing because you used them to gain income and popularity......don’t bite that hand that feeds you.
@EA_David, you or any other EA mod care to chime in? Or am I and @RNM58819956 pretty accurate here?

First off,
Players are better in general now, than a year ago. Be logical about it, while a dashboard might help increase the chances of them reaching higher rank faster, it doesn't make them a better player. In my opinion it's no cheat, but definitive exploit for sure. This is one of the rare instances where I think the developer is to blame. For several reasons, they need no explanation, you already know them.
They retroactively revoked status. Ok. The player can probably, on a legal stand point, retroactively request all monies spent on the game. That's a lot of hooch. And if they claim it's a violation of the terms of service, they'll need to provide the calculations they used to figure this genius plan out.
It appears they calculated "forgiveness points" of all players in ranked. What they did beyond that is unknown to me, but should be stated to those players affected by they're ruling. With that calculation, there couldn't be any database management going on that says THEFECESLORD or any other did what you guys refer to as dashboarding. They could probably only logically calculate those forgiveness points. Anything beyond the numbers is probably illegal on a software level, other than they're own number crunching. Even with a terms of service agreement, logic says they can't spy.
Which brings me to the case where people are getting screwed by that very principle deduction of those forgiveness points. How on earth do they weed out legit from illegit? They honestly can't, which is why you're not hearing about it from them. And those community trolls busting on those "dashboarders" need to press the brakes a bit. There were a ton of people that didn't do it themselves, but got burned by this shakedown.
The best advice I can give to those affected - Wait a few weeks for the garbage lag to die down. Grind your * to predator, and shut the troll mouths up.
Then quit the game. Any developer willing to * on it's own community without any warning, should themselves get * upon. Maybe open a ticket to try and get your money back, if you spent any.
I've played in this realm since respawn was developing for Titanfall. This was actually the most foolish thing I've seen a developer do, ever. We're talking over 50million world wide play from time to time...

My comments keep getting marked as spam... so I'm going to try to do this in two posts to see if that works
All these people saying cheating is cheating and that using exploits that the developers did not intend to work that way is simply your fault is bull.
Now let’s start with I am a huge fan of Respawn, Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends are still some of my favourite games, but there is no denying Respawn is in the wrong here.
For one, some people that used dashboarding still have their rewards and according to forums, other people who claim they didn’t dashboard are getting deranked. So obviously they don’t seem to know accurately who used it and who didn’t.
Second, If clicking “alt4” or start and main menu and just simply backing out of the game gives you loss forgiveness and that is an exploit that is ruining the ranked experience... they could have fixed it. Apex has had loads of “bugs” in their game that could be considered cheating under their bland rules.

@RNM58819956 You want to know what all these thing have in common? A game breaking problem was detected in game, Respawn acknowledged them and then patched them, and often quickly. And to my knowledge they didn’t punish players for any of this.
Now let’s take this new arc star meta where you can stick your teammates with an arc star and they can rush in to a enemy team and arc and stun everyone of them. I’m sure this is not an intended game feature and it is being abused religiously in top level games by all the pro players (I mean all of them). Imagine Respawn notices this and instead of fixing it or warning people, they just determine anyone that did this and banned them completely or deranked them. Like how is this hard to understand.
There is real cheaters out there using aimbots and wall hacks on PC that bring in external tools to ruin games and I applaud getting rid of these people... but when there is a game breaking bug it should be Respawns responsibility to patch that. I’m holding Respawn accountable for this issue and I even got my predator rewards so I’m not being petty that they took away my rewards.
