Me too, same problem with Anti-Cheat. It would be great if the game support Linux.
I am using PoP!_OS 18.04 the most games running very nice through Lutris but Apex doesn't
Message from Lutris for EA:
The game does not work due to Easy Anti Cheat. Please let know Electronic Arts that you are interested in playing on Linux. Electronic Arts has the resources to support Linux easily, the more people ask for support, the more it is likely to have a native version.

I don't know what Easy Anti-Cheat does certainly not stopping hackers even after reporting them.

EA fans has been asked for Linux support for decades (yes more than 10 years), but it choice to give a BIG NO to Linux. 64 bits games most are not supported.
Easy Anti Cheat just does not save the server from hackers. Clearly is just a hurdle to block people from Linux to use Apex Legends.
Linux is a PC platform, Linux can run much better than Windows, stop ignoring your fans, EA!

Linux users can't even use stadia at this point...
That would have been the perfect fix...
It's ironic that the new service is based on Linux but won't support it...
Hmm 100% sure they have a working Linux version
It's not all dark, though. Having Vulkan and Linux being backed up by a tech giant such as Google means there is now more incentive for companies to improve related drivers and development tools. It's not a coincidence that AMD just hired 10 people to work on their Linux drivers, only one month before announcing they are providing the hardware for Stadia. If Google's project is successful, it will force devs to get familiar with the Linux/Vulkan ecosystem and mature it to a point where releasing a Linux version has almost zero cost...

yes I had to make an account just to voice my opinion. I would love for EA to make a native version of the game I believe that you have the most talented programmers in the world (I know from personal experience learning C++ from TheChernoProject ) and would love to see a native port to Linux of this game and your others as well. Now I have a gaming computer but refuse to install windows again for the 5th time. I am done with that bug they call and OS. And wine sucks just for openers! I have tried all the tutorials for Linux but the problem is I run an NVidia Graphics card GTX 1060 to be precise. I already pay a ton of money for my son to play on his windows computer so don't tell me that it is because there is no money in Linux because I think you will find the more you make games for Linux the people will leave windows for Linux Mint 19.2 because it is a fantastic OS. I will never go back to widows 10 it is dead to me. I paid them a grip of cash and constantly get screwed. I feel like I am visiting a hooker every time I fix someones computer. Yes I am a familiar with windows more than anyone and can tell everyone there is a good reason to leave to widows in the dust. Please many people have the same issue if there is 60 here talking about it, then there 60,000 behind me that feel the same way. I just has to be done. there are assumed to be roughly 20 million Linux users. As Microsoft keeps making there OS heaver and buggier the more people will come over. system for system EA Games will play faster and better on Linux system once the game is made for Linux.

@VruhagYou're absolutely correct, a native client for either would be costly and unprofitable. Supporting them officially doesn't make any sense. Changing a single line of code to open up the linux community to support itself does.
Linux doesn't need a native client. It's emulation game is borderline magical at this point.
The windows version already runs well via emulation on linux with steamplay/wine/proton/lutris. It's the anti-cheat software that needs a seriously minor change to not reject connections over wine, a simple line change to allow it as has been done with countless other games in the past.
Valve has elevated Windows/DirectX emulation to another level such that most games can be made to play well with out any cooperation from the devs and made to play really well if even the most minimal help is offered. .
Had apple not depreciated opengl, rejected vulkan, and opted to further splinter the market with its own metal api they could be directly benefiting from all of Valves heavy lifting.
Apple has the larger market but they've made both native and emulated support difficult, not to mention the vast majority of those are macbook airs and pros with inadequate hardware
The valve+linux community has bent over backwards to make emulation almost seamless and stuck with the open api that is available to other platforms so that supporting them natively can be less costly if vulkan is already in use.
Lastly, I'm regretfully working as an apple certfied mac technician while I finish my BS in comp sci and most of the mac owners i come across on the daily don't care about games, they just dont, and wouldn't buy one if they did. Conversely most linux users do at some level, many keeping a windows install around like me for the occasional instance like apex where it doens't just work.

The real issue with EAC is that Epic Games bought out EAC and so now they maintain it, mainly in favor of stopping hackers from playing Fortnite, now that that game has taken off. They said they were going to no longer focus on support for linux, despite (as far as im aware) their own game, Fortnite, which uses EAC being on linux. This hurts a lot of developers (Freejam, EA, etc.) that use EAC for any of their currently standing multiplayer games. Robocraft being a decent example, which was already hurt by lots of poor feedback from fans after some changes made starting 2016.
Also, for those wanting Apex to be released on Macintosh -- Macs can't run games. They already struggle playing low end games like MC and Fortnite. Playing demanding games like Apex, Warframe, CSGO, and others would be practically impossible without serious problems. Macintosh systems are just overpriced college notebooks/desktops designed to look sexy to gullible people who think that price is everything in a computer's performance. Serious PC gamers would be misinformed if they thought buying a Mac was a good option. For gamers, Mac holds the least marketshare, unfortunately, due to Apple's poor business practices, selling obsolete office PCs for the price of a gaming PC that would lasts years to come.
