@PretzelnutcakeI don't think "survival" does vary as a term. It means "to stay alive". How that's achieved in Apex is up to the players. Which is why items are spread over a large and varied map like Kings Canyon, so that all kinds of game play can happen.

@Pretzelnutcake you really that dumb dude? The reason for the loot is to equip the 20 squads that are on the map or we would all be [Inappropriate comment removed - Admin.]

We can get a point across without personally insulting each other.
Everyone has their own style of play. If you're not the best at aiming, staying alive longer by avoiding firefights is probably the better way to go since you limit the amount of squads you'll come up against. Do you think you have a better chance at becoming a Champion by defeating 2 squads in a row, or 6? If you're someone with a high K:D ratio, more power to you if you think you can drop in and walk out of the area victorious.
My biggest gripe is when random squad members will keep pushing when there are opportunities to retreat, shield up, and pick a better location to engage the next squad. You have to pick your fights. Sometimes, it's not in your favor. But hey, that's my own personal argument on Battle Royale strategy.
Dropping into a heavily contested area can be a ton of fun though and the way to define fun is, well, up to you. There's players that love the high intensity of chaotic fights while others get the biggest thrill surviving all the way to the end.
Wouldn't it be great if we had the best of both worlds every game?
EA_Blueberry: Fixed "With" to "Without".

Wow that's a first. A moderator who supports inappropriate/toxic behavior! You have my support if you're running for best mod ever! 😜
i had to read, re-read and double check that re-reading because I thought 'it can't possibly be this good a mistake'. How can the letters 'out' be so significant for a position. If I wrote your line, it wouldn't matter but seeing you write it, it means alot if ppl get the wrong idea given your function.
All in good fun tho. I know what you wanted to say, so change the 'with' to 'without' fast before you land in hot water

Yes the discussion is two sided but I would rather put it like this:
One side that is so arrogant that they think they are in a position to dictate how other players must play this game.
And then we have the other side who think every player should be allowed their own preference how to play this game.
Just look at what @Fiendin4kush and @RichAC wrote
"Sorry its a survival game the developers didnt make it for you. They made it for people who want to survive and win"
"Sounds like BR is not for you."
These kind of comments make my brain hurt =)
But you are correct that the discussion creates straw man arguments , where one side think some players dont care about winning at all and intentionally get themselves killed after 30 seconds in Skulltown, and the other side think that some players only want to skulk around in the edge of the circle and avoid ALL fights just to win. The truth is most definitely somewhere between but for god sake, can we just let people play this game in the way that brings them most joy?
Me personally I ALWAYS drop hot and ALWAYS take every fight I can find, but I still go for the win. I have 8-900 games with my main and 40% top 3 and MINIMUM 18% wins (160 wins with full squad so obviously more). The difference is that I want to fight my way to the win, not sneak my way to it. Bottom line is that we should allow both types of players to play this game, both fighters and sneakers, and ffs just play with premades if you have a problem playing with "the other" type of player.
Point is. no matter what the game is. the objective is to win. If you don't care about winning, I don't want you on my team.
Sure going for more action is more exciting. But you really have to find a balance and know how good you are within yourself. If you are going for kills and losing most of your matches every time and haven't learned to adapt to a new strat that suits your abilities. THen you don't care about winning, which defeats the purpose. of ANY game.

Yes exactly. One of the reasons I would like a ranked and unranked match. ranked match for those who want more competitive matches and going for the win.. And unranked for those who want to drop hot and practice their aim etc...

they go down first cuz they got straight down so they can get a good dog fight in before the aim bot player kills them.
