@heme725If it wasn’t that big of a difference than Console players wouldn’t of threw a fit when it was ‘’accidentally nerfed’’ at the launch of Season 11 to be 40% like a PC Controller Player
Personally I think they were just testing it in the testing server and accidentally released it to the live version sooner than they had initially planned, I’m assuming whenever they release the next gen console update to give everyone on newer consoles higher frames they would nerf aim assist down to 40% for everyone like it should be

@TheApexLegendNub Nah I'm not saying it is or isn't a big deal just wondering what the difference between between .4 and .6 Aim Assist is.
Also anyone would complain if any part of their settings were altered without their knowledge. I complain whenever my sensitivity feels weird and I have to adjust it up or down again.

It's false I have finally proof of it. This is the winners from the Playstation tournament Finals game 1 with accuracy stats and they even have a Seer to wallhack their targets:

I guess they avoid making changes since it will break something in the game or make it unstable. Something like tweaking aim assist abit should be no problem but idk about the game state.

I mainly play Apex using a mouse and keyboard on PC. However I've also played using a controller on PC, to see what the problem was about, and I've recently played on a friend's console to compare the difference.
PC (Mouse and Keyboard): The easiest method in my opinion. You can move in insane ways (which is why they removed things like tap-straifing and b-hopping), and can have way better aiming capability. (Cross-Plat Lobbies)
PC (Controller): You're honestly putting yourself at a disadvantage here. You lose movement capability, such as moving while looting a deathbox, and the aim assist seems to get in the way of shooting to some degree. (Cross-Plat Lobbies)
Console: Playing with a controller felt easier, as there was a better flow to movement. However I found the aim assist getting in my way most of the time, as it slows down the aiming to an unhelpful degree while shooting, and doesn't exactly offer much accuracy at all. Sure, there's slightly less recoil, but there's nothing noteworthy about that. (Console Lobbies Only)
I've played using the default settings for the controllers on both PC and Console.
I'm pretty sure the main reason why people think aim assist is broken and overpowered, is because a bunch of people just slap on strikepacks and xim mods. This kind of stuff removes recoil completely and can even allow the use of a mouse and keyboard on console, which is also being combined with the aim assist. Which doing that just makes the aim assist look broken to other players.
Bottom line is this: the aim assist is just an assist. It doesn't aim for you, it doesn't fully fight recoil for you, and it doesn't even hold your hand in a fight.
When dying to a console player, if they're moving like they're on a mouse and keyboard, (especially looting like one), it's xim, if they have absolutely no recoil and seems to be tracking a bit too well, that's most likely a strikepack.
Legitimate console players are a lot more average then you may think, with the legit masters and preds just being slightly better then the rest.
Out of all the inputs, mouse and keyboard is by far superior.

@Midnight9746I completely agree, from the perspective of of a console player (me) if a downed person crawls up to me, it can make the difference between life and death in a fight. My aim will be pulled to the downed person, and rip me away from the real fight. What a lot of people don’t understand is that aim assist isn't after the shot is fired, it’s before. If you have an unusual experience with a console player, report them, and move on, don’t petition for the removal of the only thing keeping console players in the mix. Also btw tap straifing was not removed. On console, it’s easy to be good, but you can’t reach the same skill ceiling pc players can, even with aim assist. On pc it’s harder to get started, bet you have a larger skill ceiling. Best wishes and happy gaming!
