This event is very good when people actually play it, but people seems to rage quit as soon as they die, it is not fun for the other shadows who now must solo win a game based on team work, please implement abandon penalty, Just like ranked for people with múltiple rage quits
This are 7/10 of the games I played

I played last night and got killed right away, then proceeded to get killed as a Shadow another 8 times. I still managed to take down two Legends, but I think our player group went from 35 to 19 really fast.

Do that and people will simply not play it.
You can't force people to play a game that isn't fun, you have to make it desirable to do so.
At the moment that isn't the case; the Shadow gameplay simply isn't fun or engaging.
The gameplay experience has been pared down to such a degree that there's very few avenues for players to differentiate themselves in terms of skill, finesse & playstyle.
No abilities, no weapons, no looting, no healing, no communication.
Moreover there's a huge amount of downtime between respawns.
The only engaging gameplay is the Legend half of the equation, which is for the most part the vanilla Apex Legends experience.
For this event to have succeeded, the Shadows needed to either have gameplay as engaging as vanilla Apex Legends (a huge task), or the Shadows should have been AI bots. (which, unless the map has been tailored for, would be an even larger task).
