Seriously?? I leave one ranked match because my team literally left me to die fighting a team by myself, running all over the map solo and not helping while I'm being pushed and I get penalized for not wanting to sit and watch them hide the entire game???

Yupp, thats how the leaver penalty works. It can be triggering sometimes but we know the deal and have to live with it or take the punishment. Thats why its always a risk playing ranked with randoms. =)
And btw, I bet your team thought: "Seriously?? Once again we get matched with another random player, running all over the map solo and literally tries to fight a full team by himself which ofc got him killed". Obviously, you both were far away from each other when you died, but what made their "running solo" any different from your "running solo", if I may ask?

Yeah I get you, thats how it very often feels like to play with randoms. My point is that its usually comes downs more to different kind of mentalities how to play this game rather than a black and white case of "good or mean" people... You see this on literally EVERY posts here when the topic is anti the leaver penalty. The author always start of with telling a story how mean his teammates were and thats why he just had to leave the game and he now just cant understand why he, the victim, is punished.
Just an example: I personally hate when my teammates run to close to me when enemies are near for many reasons;
1) I dont want their steps to confuse me where the enemies are
2) its a big chance that we will start strafing into each other line of fires, blocking so much DPS for each other
3) To get different angles to shoot the enemies.
4) often when you stick together, one teammate often becomes the "tail" of the other, always a second late to find the line of sight thus ending up doing nothing in the fight.
This is the META for me but many people think the best way is to stick close together in fights... But who am I to say that Im right and they are wrong? If I play with a random with that mindset and I try to move away from him, he might think "why the hell is this random noob trying to run solo all the time" whiles I am thinking "why the hell is this random noob following me all the time" =).
So I guess thats what you have to count on when choosing to play with randoms, thats all am saying.
