What's the best way to transfer saves from a disc version of Spore?

I've tried copying and pasting my save files from my old hard drive, but the results were far from what I've expected. When I start the game, the planet shows up with a portrait of a question mark instead of the creature that's supposed to inhabit it. My empire randomizes from creature to creature for each time I load the game. Why does it not recognize the creature that I've copied and pasted from my spore creations folder?

Hi @ermanti 

You need the complete spore folder in which everything is also the MVJ caches. So not only save the folder under documents. The big spore folder directory AppData \ Roaming \ SPORE

Copied and pasted all the contents of my spore folder to my SSD. The planet is working correctly now. Thank you.
