one man squads

I am sick and tired of being placed in squads of two people when I queue for Trios in apex. Seriously, how dumb is the matchmaking that it cannot find three people for every squad, and how come always me? I was just placed in a one man squad and was killed in the first firefight because i had no squad to back me up.
