im not here to defend EA, but dont think other client like steam and more other client started up by other game companys is any better.
the more user's the more problem is reported or dealt with.
do not forget then all normal people with no skills in pc or tech is at each client more problem will be done at them. ( known as drowning in own success )
sure can EA make a app that clean all previous setting up better ( reset all user setting back to default , not saying they dont do this, but let user has option to click on it as options.
and do EA need to fix keep login/pw doing a update. ( yes i know ppl should write info down, but there is no reason to clear that, then user just update app itself should be a sequrity check only not thow in people head doing update, that can lead to issue hey is this a patch bug or login issue and even blocked then people screw this up, )
but seen this in global perspective way to few complains over things that happend to its client, then that is said Origin is a browser and that means if you have a browser issue filled with addware that can lead to issue with Origin because that is actual also browser and use default browser setup and we all know how bad things has been in the past with browser issue toolbar and so much extension in the browser,
and this can be seen as a good thing also, user has a chance to ID things if you are skilled enough, and as above user point out make own app could solve some issue, but still same thing then client is fill with junk leftovers and require a reset. this has happend to many steam owners already but people forget about it.
