@MissSnowiieThere's definitely not a "use this weapon and you'll win co-op every time" guarantee. Use the weapons and classes you are best at. For me that's starting with the heavy class. I clear out a point while moving in on it, and immediately secure the point. I don't want to even give the AI the chance to swarm and lock down the point.
That said, if my teammates aren't with me? Then I'll get overrun in the next AI wave lol!!! You need teammates willing to secure the points with you no matter what guns you use or what part of the map you are on.
I do agree the friendly AI could be better. I can't count on them to do much more than serve as a distraction so that enemy AI isn't just focused on me.
Speaking of heroes, I will actively avoid 1v1 on them because you are 100% right. They are too good at blocks and such. I either flank them or try to lure them into taking fire from the flanks.
I still find Co-op honestly the best way to play online. It's got variety. I can actually get a hero and have fun. If I lose...on to the next map. And the matches usually don't take long...except for Endor Overtime lol Supremacy matches can drag on forever. I had one last night go for over an hour lol!!!

All I was describing was my way to play Coop. This method:
1. helps the team I'm on win 50%-60% of matches (roughly - largely depends if I'm loaded into a group of fools or good players, of course)
2. helps me get 50-100 personal eliminations using 1 of the 4 Infantry classes only
3. helped me get my personal best elimination tally - 179 - using Assault Infantry class only. Was on the Jabba's Palace map, worked that yellow manual cooldown on the E-11B blaster, worked the choke points on the map - that last stage was INSANE - must have had my trigger firing non-stop for at least 5 minutes.
Y'all can play anyway you want. That's what works for me.

I just hate when I’m on Geonosis as a hero and get two shot killed by a aim bot tank

@XxDeepDiveJrxXThat tank at the last point is a serious problem. It's one shotting in siege mode while on the move!! lol!!! And it constantly respawns. Your team requirement now seems to be some combination to counter it...a Republic tank or ion damage loadout or Clone Commando...

Use BB-8 and BB-9E to obliberate all groups and when using Han on the last phase of Kessel, throw detonite charges into the spawn tunnel when the enemy wave arrives, looks like a Monty Python movie then.
Against enemy heroes, just spam blaster shots against their block wo wear their stamina down, the AI is not clever enough to manage their stamina and will close in to you even when completely out of stamina.
Take cover a lot and don't lock your jaws on that one bot you're currently shooting at, rather seek to survive. This helps a lot to make kill streaks and be more effective for your team efforts.
You'll realize that the bots are really just good in swarming you, they don't look for cover and march straight against your machine gun like soviet conscripts.
Like on first phase of Starkiller base as the defending team, two people alone can hold one objective from the covers and gadgets usage.
Use gadgets a lot and in a clever way, like the officer turret, heavy sentry gun, assault grenade (especially when paired with ability resetting shotgun).
For specialist you only need your main weapon to wreck the bots, nothing else. Distance aim tracking doesn't work well for the bots.

The ONLY two levels that are difficult to win on in Co-Op are the last phase of Geonosis as the Galactic Republic (due to the ridiculously unrealistic AAT + bad teammates) and the final phase of Kashyyyk as the Galactic Republic (due to moronic teammates who refuse to play the objective).

Just to prove my point, then I'll stop talking about it.
Played 10 matches in a row of Coop this morning and went 8-2, 8 wins, 2 losses.
Played the way I was suggesting:
1. Worked the yellow manual cool down (single best piece of advice in Coop. Doesn't matter what infantry class or weapon you use - it's about HOW you use it)
2. Worked the objective 100%. You can't control other players, but you control you. I'm usually literally standing in top of the objective waiting for the next AI wave
3. Worked the choke points where I could find them. Doors. Hallways. Yes, some maps like Trippa Hive don't have them. Just work what you can.
Or maybe it was just "luck" with good teammates, eh?
