@Natetendo83So you are OK with 8 nameless classes spread out across 128? Gotch ya.

Names and back stories of each specialist is marketing and if new Specialist roles are added it will be easy to tell the 2 Medic apart.

Specialist = visible class role/trait.

I don't see how this is an issue, if they all look completely different you're never going to be able to tell that it's 50xmaria or 50xboris running around.... This new system inherently provides more base diversity than any other battlefield game so far. I don't understand how anyone can complain about it

@Neovisi0nEven if it can be argued to be unlikely they will appear as replicas, there is still the possible situation of there being 50xMaria or 50xBoris running around and some of them being replicas which is the "hair in the soup" of immersion. I see a lot of players sharing this opinion. I see it as a solid concearn that is valuable to speak up about.

@Neovisi0n what you're running into is just a difference in peoples mindsets.  You are correct but also some people will still know that all medics are Maria's regardless of visual difference that will always be there and can't be unknown once known lol.  I am that type of person, I have also learned over the years not to sweat these things but that isn't the same for all though.  Would be great if Dice would consider making generic names for specialists but for me personally not a deal breaker and to your point I can enjoy it despite ridiculousness it creates when you think too deep on it.

Agreed @GeneralGrievous7  !!

I am actually very happy for the soldier types and specializations as being prepped by EA for our BF2042 gaming here!

It's very similar to what we had in BF4, which I found was working very well.

The 4 soldier classes are being reinstated, namely:

Assault,

Support,

Engineer, and

Recon !

And as you can recall from BF4, you could then choose which specialization you wanted your soldier type to have on top, which helped to enable your more advanced perks, as/if your squad collaborated well and stayed together and alive.

Ya, I 100% agree with you. As I've said a couple times on this form, I also prefer the class system with "unnamed" solders. But that's only for the overall lore of the game. as a lore thing, I actually prefer everyone having the same uniform depending on the team, it makes the game more of a war between two factions rather than everyone more so fighting for themselves like COD. However, by the time im actually in game and immersed in the game, I know its going to be impossible to tell, just like COD.
I just don't understand the mindset that this is some big issue, if anything its just a lore change that has no real effect on the game itself. If thats your issue, I would think that not having a story driven campaign that explains all the lore is a greater issue than the new class system.
The thing that I would expect people to be complaining about is the fact that loadouts aren't locked to specific classes anymore meaning that you can pair recon based gadgets with say assault based guns etc. I found that was a major balancer in the past BF games, so I would be more worried about that then the fact that characters have first and last names...

@Neovisi0n to the guns being agnostic to class now...  Assuming thats the only class related change I could actually get behind that unless something shown off Sunday ruins it lol.  If the only difference between any one player is the specialists gadget and perk then I'll be disappointed.  There still needs to be some generic class gadgets aside from the specialists uniques.  There needs to be a minimum amount of class separation or it really wont feel like battlefield anymore.

@WinterbornGuardfrom what I understand based on youtubers that were involved in the media brief, the specialist gadget will be taking the slot of your second gadget, while your first gadget will still be some generic piece of utility like the gadgets in BF4. Though like guns, It sounds like these will also no longer be restricted to a specific "role" and will be able to be used in any loadout.

@Neovisi0n Yeah assuming thats the case thats too unrestricted.  I can understand guns and grenades but generic gadgets need to be restricted.

@WinterbornGuard I would agree, but I'm not sure how that would really be implemented with the new specialist system. I'm very worried its going to start feeling a lot like COD.
