What was the point of ranked split?

Cause honestly it just feels like a way to let preds and masters destroy lower skill players. I’m not horrible, made it to D3 before split, but there’s no reason preds and masters should’ve been put back down into plat, reset them all at 10k rp at bottom of master and let them fight for predator again, no reason to play ranked for Atleast a week now until they’re all ranked up again. Which will be the case for a lot of players. This time yesterday I had 35 people on playing ranked. Today it was 6.

@Kevin-c946 That too hard to figure out? The map changed. That's the whole point. It would be stale otherwise if you get to keep your rank.

it IS stale, you're saying it as it was some new content but it's not, we're talking about an old map...

It’s an old map and what’s worse is they didn’t even change it from season 2. I’m asking from an RP point of view, why not just change the map and not to a soft reset type deal.
