When you look at components and you see Armor Reinforcement or Shield Reinforcement Universal Components, so those components provide better Armor or Shield vs Class specific components like Colossus Heavy Shield Reinforcement or even Overclocked Regulator?
Because if you look at the Arnor and Shield stat bars on the component, the bars are always higher for each stat on Class vs Universal mods. Do we always just look at the stat bars on the mods for the actual Armor and Shield value for that mod?
Just seems if a Shield Reinforced Universal mod is soecifcally designed for shielding, it would be better than any Class multi-stat mod.
Also, do all the Armor and Shield values add up or are we seeing the max Amor and Shield added up on the mod stat bars? Obviously we have no stat character page...yet.

You look at the actual numbers, not the bars.
The Universal mods will typically offer less protection than Class Mods, especially if you are playing as a Colossus. The idea behind the trade off is that while you are losing protection, you are gaining unique buffs that would otherwise not be available.
Personally I use just one universal component, not for the buff (Thermal cooling) but the two melee dmg rolls its has, the armor loss can be easily compensated for by a gear or weapon with an armor roll
