Things 2042 needs...(an opinion).

[ Edited ]

I finally was able to get my hands on a Series X, coming over from Xbox One X.

I can say, 2042 is alot more enjoyable and I've been playing it quite a bit.

However, there's some things I'd like to see added/changed.

- AoW needs it's own successor to Op Metro/Locker. Hate me all you want, but it's become a staple. CoD has 'Shipment', Battlefield has Metro.

- Portal needs to be the "Halo: Master Chief Collection" of Battlefield. And I think it can be. MCC launch with a laundry list of issues, but it was turned around over 8 Seasons of content. I want to play on Shanghai from Battlefield 4 using my Cei-Rigotti from Battlefield 1.

- Nerf/Remove the MC5 Bolte. Or implement an LTM with no ground vehicles. Air transports only.

- Specialists should move over to a system similar to Battlefront II's Heroes/Reinforcements. Not because I don't like them, I don't mind them. It's just that I only ever see people using Boris, McKay or Sundance. There's a weird meta that doesn't lead to variety.

- FIX the attachments system. Look at what Modern Warfare and the subsequent titles did. If EA wanted to rake in the cash, they should have gone that route. CoD's Gunsmith not only has cosmetic variations out the wazoo, but they also have a use, while at the same time, you could 5 of the same builds on 1 gun, but cosmetically, they're all different.

As it stands right now, a majority of the attachments do very little and are just cosmetic changes between each variant.

This is really all I've got at the moment and it's almost 5am. If I think of more ideas, I'll come back to this.

Hey, friend. I want to say why experts are now deformed. Because the equipment is not classified, but let the players match it by themselves. With the strongest experts and the strongest equipment, some experts will be ignored and even perform a little useless.

I posted a post about experts:

1. Role weapon allocation

The biggest change in playing this game is the expert system. Personally, I don't object to the expert system. On the contrary, I think it adds the fun of the game to a certain extent.

The equipment carried by each expert has become unified and can be matched at will. I think this is one of the biggest failures of the expert system.

According to the current version, I think [arms - roles - equipment] should be changed to

————————————————————————————

Commando - Mackay, Riwu, bulldozer, Zhixiu - anti tank mine, C5 explosive, interceptor shield, Medical needle

Engineer - Irish, Boris - fxm-33 air defense missile, recoilless M5, repair tool

Supply ice - Falk, Angel - medical box, supply box

Scouts - Rao, Caspar - laser indicators, implanted beacons

————————————————————————————

Here's an additional explanation. I think C5 UAV should not be cancelled, but should be retained in the planning of the above arms, so as to increase team cooperation.

This classification is to allow each expert to be limited so that it is not too powerful. The current situation of battlefield situation 2042 is that everyone is equipped with the strongest experts and the most powerful weapons. For example, angel plus AA equals infinite anti-aircraft guns. This is very detrimental to the game environment.

I hope you can see my post! thank!

Or Sundance and the call in system spawning MBT's way behind enemy lines with no counter, destroying the very concept of a front line.

Specialists are, at their core, merely an extra gadget locked to a specific set of skins. As you suggest, that mechanic ought to have been overlaid on the class system.

However, the extra gadgets themselves are unbalanced and unpolished. The reason you only see the three main ones is that their extra abilities are designed to avoid having to rely on others.

They're the skills designed around the solo experience. So, of course, front lines don't matter in that context if battlefield is not a team game, but merely a sandbox to drop in and out of when you're bored.

We all have ideas about how specialists can be improved, but behind it all is Dice failing to put any effort into making 2042 a team game.

Indeed, its very hard to shake the impression that Dice actually wanted to drive team players away from the franchise given just how thoroughly they removed the ability to play as a team.
