There is too much AA

★★★ Newbie

There are too many AA defenses.

When i`m in a chopper i continually hear warning signals for lock ons and incoming missiles, it's absolutely non-stop.

And when there arent 25 missiles being fired at you from ground level, an overpowered jet comes along to blow you out of the sky.

This is crazy.

@Euroblob its because now we have custom loadouts where your enemy team has 60 out of 64 players running around with some type of rocket lol, not to mention a specialist class that can throw a guided anti tank grenade with a short cooldown.....

@Euroblob I can only agree with BadShotLarry on this one. The maps are really darn big and there are too many players on it so it's easy to get locked on everywhere.
The problem also lies with the design of these maps as most of them are just open fields with a few little hills for most of the time. Not much to break line of sight as a heli / jet pilot, so lock-on is easier.

Welcome to specialist - where AA is available to everyone.

Unlike Classes were hand held AA was restricted to Engineers(BF4) only.

I'm guessing that there is no one in the helo with you repairing you as you fly,  So much for team play.

And dont forget Angel who can request a loadout change in matter of seconds for everyone around. So even if you picked the wrong loadout to deal with a situation you can swap at any time. Plus have an unlimited supply of rockets and explosives.

100%, they should rename it to "Beepfield" ... there is an AA lock every 3 seconds. Pair that up with the broken flares mechanic, it's silly.

There is only one easy solution. As pilot you should learn how to fly low which needs mastery and developer side they need to stop locking mechanism under certain altitude. This is the only way to give choppers breathing chance while playing under these conditions.

Meanwhile, I've had the exact opposite experience...too many vehicles. I spawn in and get mowed down by a helicopter. Respawn, get run over by a tank. Respawn, get sniped. Respawn, another helicopter attack. Respawn, hovercraft. And the number of shots it takes to destroy any vehicle? Ridiculous! By the time I fire, reload, and ready my next shot, the vehicle I'm attacking has either flown away, driven off, or locked on to my location and taken me out with pinpoint accuracy!

But I'll be damned if I can get in a helicopter of my own long enough to learn to fly it! I dunno how everyone does it because these controls make no sense what so ever! Customizing them to fit my play style would require me to boot the game up again and I'm not doing that again any time soon.

@Euroblob I agree. It literally feels like 90% of people are running AA. The combination of 128 players with no classes now so anyone can use AA and the bad open and flat maps with little to no cover for air vehicles makes for poor heli play. Dice needs to bring back the ability to break lock on when you fly low under radar.
